Running long distances is bad for your joints. I don't do it.

Probably not what OP meant but a 5-minute mile is a better indicator of fitness than being able to run 5 miles with no time limit imo.

I was always a runner so my 4:40 mile time always felt good. But all of those numbers are incredibly arbitrary OP.

Why not add. 10 pull ups or 15 dips in there too? Add 100 push ups too. Then your 400meter time under 55 seconds.

Doing it frequently? Yes. I'll sprint or push a sled, but fuck running. There are way too many better conditioning exercises out there to bother with that bullshit.
