Hey Veeky Forums I have been lifting for about 3 months and the last couple of days at my gym have been shit, all the landwhales and disgusting resolution cucks.
I realized I don't want to touch the equipment at any gym because of recent events, I figure some other people may feel the same (not just that, home gyms are overall superior)
I'm still on Stronglifts so I'm just looking to buy a power rack with everything else you need, I was just wondering if you guys have advice as to what brands or make are good for equipment like this, my budget is give or take $1500 USD.
>Inb4 gorilla Primal brand kettlebells is all you need to get BIG
Brandon Turner
Just keep going to the gym
Eli Gomez
But like the membership will come out equal to the equipment by the end of next year.

Easton Walker
Thanks lad.
Jordan Fisher
Fuck that.
Rogue Ohio power bar or go home
Kevin Gray
You can literally figure it out yourself, and if you can't you're genuinely retarded, congrats
Nolan Richardson
rogue is best. I have the same bar.
Michael Torres
reee which
Landon Sanders
Rogue Fitness. B and R 2.0 bar. Plates. Olympic Dumbbells and EZ Bar. Bench. Platform. You don't need bumper plates. Also get a skipping rope, dip bar attachment and lifting belts. Also get squat shoes. Now give source

Doesn't have to be 1500 especially if you are only doing Strong lifts. I got a bench and half rack on CL for 50 bucks. I bought a 300 lb barbell weight set from Dicks for 180. Still shopping around for a power rack but that's essentially all you need.
Jayden Gutierrez
Yeah but if I'd like to continue lifting just at home I should buy things I need once I start a more advanced routine right?
Hudson Roberts
Just make sure it's THE Texas Power Bar. Lots of imitators. It's made by Buddy Capps. That's a solid bar. I have the west side bar which is basically the Ohio with sharper knurling. It's my favorite bar.
Make sure you don't skimp out on the rack. A shitty rack will kill you. I'd look at the rogue echo rack. It's solid and budget oriented.
Hunter Turner
>get squat shoes What did he mean by this? : ^ )
Angel Cooper
Don't get that bar get a Rogue B&R Bar 2.0
Ryan Torres
He meant buy Oly shoes for squatting in
Jeremiah Collins
Yeah that's it.
Elijah Torres
>a full home gym costs less than 500$ seriously?
treadmill swimming pool sauna and lifting area/equiptment all for 500$(the cost of 2 years of membership at my gym)?
Isaac Bailey
>Rogue B&R Bar 2.0 Are there any major differences between this one and the Ohio bar?
Thanks
I'll give source one sec
Ian Garcia
Well the last four months plus the next year will come out to 640 for me, so maybe I was wrong with that.
But by home gym I meant just the rack, bench with barbell and weights. And obviously some smaller accessories.
Luke Adams
Wait, do you buys shoes just for squatting? Do you change them mid workout when you do other exercises?
Dominic Reed
I think you'd be able to wear them the entire workout, having flat shoes for your lifts is pretty important.
Thomas Green
>four months plus the next year will come out to 640 holy fuck.
James Miller
I have my Metal powerlifting shoes for squat and deads only.
Jackson Martin
It's a decent gym.
I'm willing to spend 1500 on equipment for my home.
Andrew Jones
Squat shoes aren't flat though
Isaiah Allen
He meant buy Oly shoes for squatting in
Xavier Johnson
Google Dani Daniels yoga pants
Asher Torres
Yeah if you squat high bar. Low bar I like flats.
Owen Ramirez
I Row and deadlift barefoot or in Chuck Taylors, and wear Adidas Power Perfects for all other lifts
Michael Clark
Rogue B&R is better
Lincoln Barnes
Based on the specs, it comes down to standard or sharp knurl. For high volume, that sharp knurl could get old. For high intensity, standard knurl might pull away on deads. There's always chalk though.
Cameron Morris
I have another question, what rack should I get? I was looking the ones on the Rogue Fitness website and it looks like most of them have to be screwed down, and the rack is going to be going in my bedroom so I can't do that.
Grayson Bell
HR-2 half rack might be an option then. Doesn't need to be bolted down.
Youve been lifting for 3 months and think youre above new years resolutioners? Youre no better than them, you just started 3 months before them. Build your home gym, youll probably quit in no time with your attitude.
Levi Nguyen
oh no, it's retarded
Daniel Mitchell
Thank you.
Ethan Robinson
No I'll continue and when my lifts get half decent I'll become a trip fag just to annoy you.
Kayden Hall
I don't get this. How the fuck is a cheap rack going to break? You could probably load up over a ton on even a cheap one without issues. It's not like they're made out of fucking toothpicks.
Jackson Myers
Because a cheap rack implies cheaper materials, and a cheaper method of construction (e.g., shitty welds on the joints), which means that it's more likely to fail than something with better materials and fabrication when a bunch of weight is dropped on it if you fuck up.
Easton King
I've seen welds on some of the cheap Chinese racks that look like a bird drug its ass over it. Drop a loaded bar and watch that birdshit weld break.
Jose Allen
*jamaican hiphop supergroup*
Julian James
Ya but are you seriously telling me a 200-300$ rack will break with any reasonable amount of weight(under 600lbs)? If racks like the t-2 were really that shitty how could they sell so many?
Ryan Rodriguez
Which power racks have lots of tightly spaced holes?
Zachary Perez
It's called westside spacing. Originates from the spacing they have on the racks in Westside Barbell. Rogue monster lite have this. I don't know about others.
Blake Miller
Is this a good rack? I might be able to pick one up cheap locally.
>$1500 USD That's fuckload of money You can get powerlifting cage for that, barbell and weights. YOu don't need anything more. If you have no place for the cage, buy squat rack and bench. Without cage you'll need pull up bar too. You can buy all of that for way under 1500
Caleb Johnson
>tfw I can tell their names just by their butts noporn 2017, treat me well
Ryan Thompson
IT doesn't fucking matter. Buy one with 30mm grip and for 30+mm weights. You won't get near 200kg anytime soon to buy some fancy bar.
Nicholas Rogers
BRAAP and PHHBTH?
Noah Rivera
You're probably right, for what I'm doing I don't need a full power rack, a squat rack should suffice.
>splurging anything more than $150 on a metal frame I built my rack for about $100. Just go to a steel merchant, buy your shit, bolt it together or weld if you can and boom, you have a rack without a $300 name on it.
Hudson Wood
It's a bit nicer then the rogue knockoff brand from China but your paying way too much. I see your in Canada just wondering how much shipping is?
Parker Hill
Bro if your doing dead in your bedroom just build a platform for another 200 or so and you can bolt the rack into your platform. Or you can get the r3 bolt together or skid plates could be an option too
