How the fuck do I get to sleep?

>waste 1-2 hours away lying awake in bed because my mind can't stop fucking racing

I don't want this to ruin my gains. Should I just take sleeping pills or something?

Phenibut

Don't drink caffeine in the latter part of your day.
Do cardio before bed.
Cool your room and get rid of light.
Use your bed only for sleep.
Close your eyes and inspect the back of your eyelids.

If you have trouble concentrating on sleeping try practicing meditation.

You fucking idiot

Exhaust yourself, mentally and physically.

You're not working hard enough.

>screen brightness to minimum
>night mode or a red screen app
>watch Netflix in the position you want to fall asleep in, keep your finger positioned over the screen lock button
>low volume, no headphones
>when you start feeling sleepy you can just tap the lock screen button and let go of your phone
This has been my method for a year now.
t. someone with a history of insomnia

I had the same problem lately.

I stopped drinking fizzy drinks and turned all screens off and went to bed at midnight the past 2 nights.
First night I just lay there all night
2nd night I slept like a baby straight away.

They have an app called twilight, it changes the light from blue to a red, works for me.

Read before sleeping. It works for me. It's so fucking boring that it will make you fall asleep instantly.

The only nights my mind races when i try to sleep are the nights i stay up playing vidya or endlessly looking at porn or other shit on the internet.

Stay away from screens at night and go to bed at a normal hour with a book in your hand.

white noise machines / apps
podcasts on sleep mode

>all I have is books about Christian theology and Nazi Germany

I'd just end up going to bed sad, thinking about what could've been.

are you me?

One day, comrade.

One day.

My personal experience, always had sleeping difficulties ever since my mid teens.. Been going on for a decade, did the whole no lights, read a book before bed, no caffeine etc and my sleep was still shit.

I know this is going to trigger a lot of people but weed mate, just smoke a J and hour or so before bed and curl on up. I can sleep through the night fantastically on it and days where I have to try get an early night because of shift work or whatever doesn't make me anxious anymore.

Just don't become a stupid lazy fucking 420 blaze it all day faggot. While I do rarely use it recreationally when I'm with some mates, it's just entirely a wind down part of my routine before I go to bed. Considering everyone thinks I'm straight edge in every other way, buff, got job etc people are always taken aback when they find out.

If you don't suffer from depression or mental issues i would seriously give it a go, with the right strain.

if you supplement zinc that can cause insomnia as it builds up

Thiiiiis, start reading me friend.
Not only have you acquired a hobby, but all the time you are lying in bed and not sleeping, are now suddenly used for something productive.
Also it makes me sleepy as hell, can rarely do more than 10 pages before I have to stop and sleep.

Anyone else here who sleeps exclusively in the gym? I literally can't sleep anywhere else. My gym is a pretty big 2 floor gym open 24/7, and I live only 20 minutes away so it is really convenient for me. I usually sleep in the areas where people are least likely to be at night. There is sometimes committed guys in the free weights area, I've found that sleeping by the ellipticals and exercise balls to be the best. Here are some tips

>If possible, sleep leaning against a wall so distant passers assuming you are doing wall pushups
>If not, sleep in a corner, beneath some sort of loose bench, or behind large cardio machines
>You can sleep laying at an angle on a Stair Climb machine and people will assume you are just doing a new type of exercise, people do all sorts of funny walks on them so it won't seem odd
>In the days you work out bring your stuff inside a pillowcase, not a bag, so people think you always carry it and when you walk in at night with it, it won't seem out of the ordinary - just looks like you coming to work out
>hide heavy weights before you sleep so people won't use them and wake you up
>if you can find any unlocked classrooms for yoga and shit, sleep there, people assume they are locked
>when you workout in the day, make snoring noises when you lift so people don't think it is odd and investigate if they hear you snore at night

And try to stick to darker areas of course, nd do 10 minutes light cardio before bed

>tfw to intelligent to sleep

autism at its best

I live right next to a set of Amtrak train tracks and I also have cats.

I haven't slept well all fucking year. Fortunately my lease is up at the end of Feb and I can move somewhere quieter where I'll ban the cats from our bedroom.

Still, for now those trains are so fucking loud and they run all night, and I swear to god a poor bastard driving one pulled up to the station near my house at 12midnight on the first.

What a life.

OP, I have lifelong chronic insomnia and the only thing that helps me is Gravol. Now, you can take regular sleeping pills but they stay in your system longer and will have you feeling like shit in the morning. Gravol is designed to hit your system fast, peak and then GTFO. I take a full one and go into a deep sleep for about 5-6 hours and feel refreshed. You should try it!!!FACT!!!

Lunesta. Best shit ever.

You are trying too hard.

No he's not, you just have autism and lack the ability to interpret his social cues.

As for sleeping, I heard that forced yawning works.

TFW one month winter break has made it so I naturally fall asleep at 4am

It takes me at least 3 hours to fall asleep because I can't stop crying and thinking about sad things

u guys read book or from tablet? whats better

This is exactly my problem. I'm seriously considering antidepressants.

Winter break is horrible. I only have one more to go through.

Look up mirtazapine, I've been on it for 3 months. Great sleep and reduces social anxiety.

I feel u user :(
why are grills so complicated?

I agree, can't wait to get back to the rumble tumble of college life. My dad doesn't let me leave the house at night, he knows I drink.
