There was this thread about testosterone two days ago. Apparently, there is no doubt that some kinds of plastic contain stuff with estrogenic activity.
According to some sources, BPA-free plastic is okay though. According to other sources, any plastic is to be avoided at all costs. However, many sources sound very brosciencey and tinfoil-hatty.
Do we have some actual science on this? For example, should I get rid of my plastic water kettle? Do you actively avoid some of this stuff (also parabens etc.) in your daily life?
Pretty much every plastic has xenoestrogens in it. BPA is the best known of them, but even BPA free plastics have xenoestrogens. I won't spoonfeed you, you have the largest source of information in human history at your finger tips, figure it out you dumbass.
Dairy has minimal amounts of estrogen, and even then the highest values are in normal cow's milk.
Fuck off vegan.
Colton Sullivan
meat fag is mad that vegans have higher testosterone
>Vegans had higher testosterone levels than vegetarians and meat-eaters, but this was offset by higher sex hormone binding globulin >but this was offset >but
Isaac Bennett
>Needs to supplement his diet defection detected
Cooper Nelson
The only ones who should be worried about xenoestrogens are those who have naturally low test and depend on exterior sources to keep their hormonal balance
Kayden Johnson
I would rather take a b12 and vitamin d tablet than not be able to get my dick up because my blood vessels are fucked with plaque
Cooper Cox
and there were no differences between diet groups in free testosterone, androstanediol glucuronide or luteinizing hormone so you fuck your health up with all of the animal products and don't even have higher T?
>top kek
Ethan Perez
You're forced to supplement and still risk limpy dick. I am free to choose and can easily avoid limpy dick. I win :D
Juan Clark
>you fuck your health up nah :D
Hunter Mitchell
You didn't even comprehend what I said A plant based diet can prevent heart disease and one of the first signs of heart disease is erectile dysfunction (fun fact Viagra was originally designed as a heart disease medication), build of of plaque in the blood vessels from saturated fat and cholesterol intake causes this along with inflammation (also caused by meat). This plaque restricts blood flow and causes ED. I was saying I would rather eat a plant based diet and not get ED, and subsequently take a b12 and d3 pill than eat your shitty meat diet and get ED and subsequently heart disease
Dominic Sullivan
>the worst thing in terms of heart disease is transfats >transfats are vegan :D
Sebastian Parker
What stops you from taking an anti-estrogen like Aromasin?
Ethan Ramirez
I'm not an obese 50 year old black man so I don't give a fuck about heart disease

Yea it's just the number one cause of death in america, nothing to worry about at all. trans fats are naturally found in animal products such as butter hydrogenated oil are also awful for you as well as oils in general this don't stop the fact that the saturated fat and cholesterol and transfats in animal products are causing heart disease and subsequently ED
Easton Williams
>trans fats are naturally found in animal products such as butter source on that >hydrogenated oil are also awful for you as well as oils in general Yes those naughty avocados >this don't stop the fact that the saturated fat and cholesterol and transfats in animal products are causing heart disease and subsequently ED News just in, cyanide from any source is poisonous. Vegans blame meat.
Luke Lee
You have to be trolling, I refuse to believe someone could be this fucking dense. >source on that lmgtfy.com/?q=butter nutrition
the rest of your post is just as insightful as a random clustering of words
Angel Gray
>hydrogenated oil are also awful for you All of these are vegan
Landon Watson
>trans fats are vegan
Jeremiah Morris
>vegans derail and ruin yet another thread
When are mods going to start banning these faggots?
Jeremiah Taylor
Butter has trans fats and is not vegan, I am not arguing that anything vegan is healthy, I am arguing that whole plant wholes are healthy
Tyler Adams
I am so sorry for giving life saving advice to you meat cucks
Kayden Thomas
Mixing vegan ingredients into an animal product doesn't make the ingredients less vegan. Real butter doesn't have it. >whole plant wholes are healthy Here's a belladonna berry salad with apple seed dressing. Enjoy :3
Jordan Parker
You fags could at least just make a vegan general to keep your "advice" contained, instead of ruining and derailing threads.
Nicholas Cox
this is why I just drink out of glass. Fuck plastic
Caleb Phillips
Thread i was just browsing has the answers you seek, although i warn you user, there are many answers.
With regards to the meats vs. veggies side discussion, I've looked into heart disease a bit and right now the honest-to-God answer is that they haven't figured out exactly how fats play into heart disease. They've found: >Those with higher cholesterol have a higher risk of heart disease. >Using statins to lower your cholesterol reduces your risk of heart disease. >Altering your diet to reduce cholesterol DOES NOT reduce your risk of heart disease. So the trillion dollar question is, "How the fuck can I prevent a heart attack??"
1) If you're worried about it or have a history, badger your doctor into giving you cholesterol medication 2) My next research will be into the Mediterranean diet. I haven't looked into it much but as far as "diets" go, this one is the real deal (it isn't some bullshit you do for 3 months, it's an actual, lifelong diet) and it sounds like it might reduce risk of heart disease, although I haven't looked for an intervention study yet.
(an intervention study is where they take a bunch of people with high risk for heart disease, make a change in half of them, and then compare those to the control group to see if the risk was earnestly reduced. This is very important with heart disease because we have seen that it's more than merely having low cholesterol that affects risk)
P.S. I picked the gayest heart image I could find to appease you, dear Veeky Forums
Jackson Carter
Heart disease risk has nothing to do with diet or activity but with body fat levels
Grayson Hughes
>Heart disease risk has nothing to do with activity
But that's wrong breh.
Landon Kelly
Yea because you meat fags have never derailed a vegan thread with your meat cuck nonsense
Isaiah Hernandez

You think that taking statins to lower cholesterol is better than lowering it with diet? HAHAHAHHAAHHAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
why don't you just jerk off the
Joshua Sanders
Obesity definitely raises risk but you can still be high risk while skinny. My dad was 42 when he died from a heart attack and I believe he was beginner-mode... possibly skinnyfat, but he had weights at home so I think he had a bit of muscle-- he was nowhere near obese.
IIRC, your heart disease risk doesn't really start rising significantly until your body gets past subcutaneous fat at which point it begins to skyrocket. That is, your fat doesn't hurt you much until it starts accumulating in the midsection and around your organs.
The strongest predictor is cholesterol, which is why so many people have made such a big deal about lowering cholesterol. But as I said before, lowering cholesterol does not lower risk, so we're left wondering why the correlation exists and what we can do that is truly effective.
I think he might be right about that in the sense that the benefits of cardio exercise will quickly plateau... e.g. one hour of cardio a week might be as good as ten.
Jason Anderson
t. "natural medicine" fag.
Once you grow out of your edgy anti-consumerism phase, try reading some scientific studies.
It's ironic because "Heart Healthy" is a HUGE marketing tool. Pic related, notice the shape of the bowl?
Zachary Perez
It's heart healthy because it is high in fiber which lowers cholesterol It doesn't have saturated fat which increases cholesterol
Carson Baker
>posts vegan gainz >oh look soy has 0 estrogen effects and all meat will cause manboobs
this isnt biased at all.
David Sanders
Did you even watch the video? He says it soy does cause estrogen effects when you eat a lot of it.
Justin Lewis
>15 servings a day to have any effect
It's called cherrypicking and controlled opposition you rudimentary fuck.
Austin Walker
> I wouldn't eat more than 3 servings a day to be honest because of the cancer risk
Asher Smith
WOAH SIDE EFFECTS? FOR A DRUG THAT COULD LITERALLY GIVE ME FIVE EXTRA YEARS TO LIVE??? UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
If you weren't a mouth-breathing troglodyte you'd understand that the list you linked includes every side effect ever reported in any of the 58 studies they've cited. The list is so exhaustive as to be useless-- >Very rare (less than 0.01%): Protein-losing enteropathy >Frequency not reported: Anorexia, pancreatitis, vomiting But yeah, focus on all those "frequency not reported" side-effects over >The Scandinavian Simvastatin Survival Study (4S) demonstrated a 30% reduction in total mortality in patients followed for a median of 5.4 years and a 42% decrease in death from coronary heart disease compared to placebo. >30% reduction in total mortality in patients followed for a median of 5.4 years >30% reduction in total mortality in patients followed for a median of 5.4 years
"Idk I could have a 30% chance of living for 5 extra years, but there's an unquantifiable chance that I'll vomit from this drug... Damn corps are always trying to get me!"
Evan James
but you can get all of those benefits and more by eating healthier with the only side effects being benifits, how do you not get this through your thick fucking skull
Robert Jones
Look you fucking nematode, eating healthier reduces your RISK FACTORS, but DOES NOT REDUCE YOUR CHANCE OF DYING from heart disease.
If I have high cholesterol and I change my diet such that my cholesterol is lowered, then I'll have less "risk" for heart disease, based on the studies that show a correlation between cholesterol and heart disease.
HOWEVER, when you take a group of people with high cholesterol, and you change their diets such that all of them lower their cholesterol, studies find that THEY ARE JUST AS LIKELY TO DIE FROM HEART DISEASE AS THEY WERE BEFORE. The "reduced risk" DOES NOT APPEAR.
How many times do I have to explain this to you fucking inbred morons? ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27547428 >Mean serum cholesterol levels decreased in all intervention groups and all but one control group. The reductions in mean serum cholesterol levels were significantly greater in the intervention groups; this did not result in significant differences in CHD or all-cause mortality.
You can change your diet to lower your cholesterol but YOU WILL NOT LIVE LONGER.
Jeremiah Gutierrez
Well getting a heart attack doesn't require you to be high risk/have high cholesterol. There is a big part of it from genetics and other bad habits.
And I meant that you will lower your ldl only by losing weight, being fat and excercising wont burn it off. I used to have blood ldl levels way over acceptable when I was fat, even though I was moderately active and didnt eat many eggs or animal fats because of the cholesterol meme. Only by losing several kilograms did they go on normal levels no matter how many eggs and meat I eat nowadays
