What sort of historical clothes do you wear/wish to wear?

What sort of historical clothes do you wear/wish to wear?

none, I only larp on Veeky Forums

I'm a big fan of early 21st century United States dress.

None, most of it looks autistic/uncomfortable.
I'll stick to normal people clothes.

I sometimes wear a coat similar to the one Napoleon wore.

>tfw Scottish

Oh don't be so boring

I sometimes wear a Sam Browne belt and a peacoat but only because it's comfortable, and in the winter you can get away with wearing it without looking autistic

...

My vote goes to like, Edo Japan peasant clothing. Jinbei for days.

Due to my job, I wear 18thC clothing at least 5 days a week. This includes around town, as I am in a historic site capital and no one gives a shit over seeing a guy in breeches and a waist coat at the Chinese buffet or in the hardware store.

Mix that with my reenacting hobby, and I go weeks without ever wearing 21stC clothes.

ww2 uniforms
british redcoat and cavlary uniforms

Which museum?

Ooops.... wrong universe

that helm might look impressive, but it would be impractical to fight in

Anything Napoleonic

Ive actually worn this. Taken it to the beach and shopping

Looks pretty cool. Any pics of someone wearing something close to that?

Once I save enough money I plan to buy myself b3 flight jacket - the type which wore American military pilots during ww2.

Off my board, sw*rthoid

Indian war era cavalry uniforms are pretty cool

...

Alright mehmet

Looks comfy as fuck. Would wear this too

I wear a German army M40 tunic without insignia on cold days. It actually looks quite nice and not overly autistic.

post pic of it pls

>What sort of historical clothes do you wear/wish to wear?

I just want robes and cloaks to be acceptable for men. Comfy looking...

That's one thing I'll say for arabs - they still like robes.

I don't know if anyone actually dressed like this, but I would definitely do it if it weren't socially faux pas.

peacock-feather hats

>anything military
>not overly autistic

>not overly autistic
user, I...

It doesn't even look overtly military.

>Wears historical clothing
>Not autistic

>Muh practicality
Fuck off mate, no one asked you shit

comfy in the heat

US Paratrooper boots

My parents are from Scotland and I had to wear a kilt to a family wedding when I was a kid once, I don't think the tradition of tartans is very old though, iirc it was just some romanticised crap from the Victorian era

Pic related, the one I had to wear

Certain tartan patterns being part of a codified system of being attributed to certain families is Victorian romanticism but certain Clans were associated with certain tartans before that, since local weavers would probably only make one pattern.

Personally I want to get a hideous gaudy tartan suit and LARP

yeah man I agree, I'd love a good cloak

Bulgarian interest period.

SS uniforms are regrettably Veeky Forums since I feel like the association killed the style.

Post Nuclear War is pretty cool.

I wish I was autistic enough to walk around like this all day without feeling the cold stares of everyone around me

Pretty Veeky Forums

>tfw you will never look this cool at your job

Not even Romans liked wearing togas

holy shit natzi as fuck

love how his face is liek "u mad jelly"

sans powdered wig of course

...

I think it's a damn shame that we lost all the knowledge of the druids. Supposedly it took like 20 years to be schooled as a Druid and all that shit is just lost forever now

my nigga

>one size fits all T-shirt made from synthethic fabrics
>jeans that either fits your waist OR are the correct length for your legs

Instead of custom fitted linen and wool garments with hose leggings that show just how sexy your calves are.

bulgarian?

I'm not sure if I want Gropey the Clown stalking around my historical sites and museums.

You tell me, I'd love to witness one of them, their connections with plants and animals and the sky, holy shit, I wish.

Closest thing we got to that we got nowdaysare the hindu gurus that live in the forests and some pagan shamans in some tribes here and there.

I wear blue jeans alot.

I wear a 15th century outfit on historical events & reenactments.
It's quite comfortable to wear despite being mostly made from wool but it's a pain to put on with it's two dozen laces.

fucking lmao

I've been wondering for a while, why did it take civilizations so long to figure out pants? Were they really that much harder to make/figure out than tunics and dresses?

Victorian gentlemen

Greek

>you will never be a rich child in Italy during the high Middle Ages and basically get dressed up like a girl until you’re of age, and even then tights and all that “feminine” clothing was actually for dudes.

HYW English knight

It was almost the dress code for US senators.

I'm sad that we don't get to laugh at them for this, but I'm glad that we don't have to see all of those wrinkles and pasty skin.

Yeah just have to see their gobbles stretched down the front of their ties as they nap through another meeting.

That's a big shirt

Looks similar to my adidas tracksuit.

...

greek boys look like THAT??

lad

I'd go full Balkan folk, no holding back, in formal and non-formal settings.

Veeky Forums af

At least the Dalmatian (Croatia) veštit is socially acceptable in formal settings.

Chinese styles look better desu, even if gommies did kill them off.

very nice

peak aesthetics
fuck late rome fags

I'll have what he's having

Are you too cheap to get pants that are fitted to you or at the very least just pay a tailor to hem them?

>you will never make a last stand with your brothers against the reds

Patrician choice.

Tartans are barely historical, it's 19th century pseudohistory.

why would you want to dress up as a virgin?

lmao
