Tried dips for the first time in 6 months and they were actually really easy (I couldn't even do 1 6 months ago)

trappy, i'm doing TM with Deadlift 5RM's on Friday and i'd like to do some assistance exercises for deadlifts and grip work.

i'm currently doing 60% of 1RM for 10 On the minute on Monday, as Justin Lascek recommends, but i hear people say i'd be better off doing deficit sets or just regular sets at higher weight? what do you think i should do and on what day?

i'd like to keep double overhanding my DL's, so i do farmer's walks (only db's at my gym) as a finisher on monday and friday. just one set with a weight that i can do at least 50 steps with. once i reach 70, i up the weight. any suggestion in this department? could i train grip every day, even on wednesday?

You should do physical tests (with a professional would be better) to diagnose what the issue with the shoulder is. Is it on the internal rotation, on the flexion, on the socket, one of the joints or one of the rotator cuff muscles, etc...

It's likely not a strength issue, but a mobility deficiency from one of those or other things.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about injury per se, but lack of mobility in one of the shoulders. It's not an uncommon thing.

A (good) physical therapist is the professional that deals with this, doctors are specialised for actual injuries.

But sure, maybe it's just bad bench form and dips being uncomfortable in general for a lot of people.

I think the whole DLing a lot in a minute works well for grip strengthening and endurance/core work, maybe not so much for actually strengthening the hip extensors.
Deficit DL and regular sets will work better if the goal is getting volume to strengthen the movers.

You won't be able to go far with this no matter how much you try. It will bottleneck your movers, which are much stronger and have more potential strength than the grip muscles in general.

If you really don't want to do mixed grip for whatever reason (I can't think of a decent one), then start learning to hook grip. Then you can alternate between DOH lighter sets and hookgripping heavier sets.

I was talking to a powerlifting coach in the gym and he was telling me how to improve my squat, he said my downpoints were my glute strength and hips and told me to get red resistance bands and do crab walks and monster walks with them before i squat.
