I take a Vitamin D3 (1kIU) + K2 (45mcg) supplement every day I know I won't be in the sun. And since it's been really cold and cloudy with short days, I've been taking it a lot. I do feel better, more energetic, when I take these on dreary winter days.

Honestly you probably do not need to supplement vitamin D during the winter unless:

Either way you should still be getting plenty from sunlight. Summer should give you all the sunlight you need even in far northern countries, as the studies show.

I take D3 because I moved from FL to OR and don't get as much sun. I think it's 1000iu. I only take 1 a day.

I feel like in a couple weeks I have noticed a noticeable benefit from 6,000 UI a day

However, I work at home, in econmerace. I only really go to the gym and grocery store and post office when I go outside and leave the house.

So my exposure to sunlight is minimal. But maybe it's placebo, maybe it is not.

But I feel like it has helped me, because I had no sunlight in my life.

I was happy before taking it, but I feel a little better as of late.
