Will lifting help prevent diseases, or should I focus more on cardio?

Fearmonger shill detected

Cardio. You should be doing at least an hour a day. I suggest investing in a garmin watch. It will tell you your daly steps, milage, calories burn, and your heart rate at all times. Your goal over the months should be for your resting heart rate to decrease via regular cardio.
buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/wearables/c10002-p1.html

Lifting is good for its own reason but not for your internal organs.

Also if you're so concerned about the slim possibility of getting seriously sick or injured just buy your own health insurance/ health care. If you're a guy under the age of 40 who doesn't smoke and isn't fat it will be way cheaper than the government currently has you pay via increased taxes and lowered deductions currently on Obamacare. Daily reminded that Obamacare is just another tax on single young men and another welfare program to subsidize women.

> being at a high risk of illness
> can't even read, because if he could he would see this board has nothing to do with health
> making it
Pick either the first two or the last knee

If you cant afford health care, you don't deserve health care. You faggot are always looking for free shit at the expense of others.

tl;dr I'm glad you're losing your coverage.

You're too lazy to do anything anyways. Just give up and hopefully die

Serious question; do you not have full time employment that pays for your healthcare?

Back to /pol/

good, my premiums went up almost 50%

The biggest difference between the right and the left is a capacity for empathy.

...

I know right? The Republicans just want to get people off gibmedats and improve individual responsibility while Democrats love it when the disenfranchised must rely on the State, keeping them in perpetual slavery 2.0

Well since you're fucking retarded why not just die?

>If you're a guy under the age of 40 who doesn't smoke and isn't fat it will be way cheaper...
Pre-existing condition.

You're an idiot if you don't think having cheaper Healthcare is a good thing.

Get ready for a larger increase after it's gone. ACA limited the overhead the insurance companies can collect. When that limit is gone...

>knowing this little about social safety nets
>actually believing the conservative meme machine

Lmaoing @ ur life

>unironically wanting to give niggers your money

It was cheaper before king nigger started to heal other niggers with my tax dollars

>work job where I walk 15miles a day

does this do anything for cardio or is walking a shit?

Edgy

Most of our social spending goes to white families. A higher proportion of black families collect than white, but by sheer numbers alone way more whites are on welfare/food stamps/etc. than blacks. Also if we take these programs away the problems will get a LOT more expensive. It's cheaper to feed a useless body than to deal with all the consequences of undernourishment and starvation down the line. But go ahead and take it all away because hurrr they look different. You unevolved dipshit.

>obamacare
>affordable

Yeah I guess if you don't work full time at a low wage job, for everyone else it costs a fucking arm and a leg

O wanted public option, but couldn't get it through Congress. Nothing else will begin to address cost issue.

This isn't universal healthcare like in canada or the EU, where the vast majority of the healthcare/aka wellfare as people like you put it, would go to older whites, this is the same forced insurance scam that the repubs and dems who're in the pocket of the insurance pharma and doctor lobby for fucking generations.

Only fucking OBAMA could get it run through because he was popular with the useful idiots and they rich assholes could get retards/astroturfing racist shit stirrers like you to blather on about retarded shit like that

OBAMACARE is a fucking joke.

Sorry to hear that man. Supposedly there will be a "replacement" plan so that people on ACA don't go without, but I seriously doubt it will be worth shit. Even the ACA was a bastardized and watered down version of eh at it was supposed to be. Let's see how much worse the healthcare will get now that republicans got their hands on it, if they even follow through with a replacement at all

I'm actually on arizona medicaid and I'm worried that's next on the chopping block. I'm trying to get a job with healthcare, but I'll still be shit out of luck once I've saved enough to go back to uni.

Just wash your hands often, don't touch your mouth or face, don't bite your nails or fingers ever, never share food or drinks, and avoid crowded places like clubs. It's not foolproof but it will help a lot. Also make sure your diet, exercise, and see is good, but I figure that's alreadt good if you're here.

>lifting
>cardio
>not diet

Git gud.

>The total number of people collecting welfare from 200 million people is higher than that of 75 million people
No fucking shit. Percentages matter.

>Because they look different
kek no. Have you ever lived near them? I'm guessing no. Fuck off.

And whatever you do, don't have a preexisting condition!

Because when government takes money from middle class it always goes to help the less fortunate and to make the world a better place

Well obviously that would help, but I was giving advice on things he can control. Insurance companies are so generous with what a "preexisting condition" is that many people likely have one without realizing it. Making it so you couldn't be denied for preexisting conditions, as well as being able to stay on your parents insurance until you're 24 are two of the best things that ACA made. It's the only reason my brother is able to even have healthcare despite his severe asthma. People paint this narrative about "hur I dun want to pay for niggurs", but in reality it'd hurt people like my brother the most.

If republicans gave half a shit about their nation, the would be trying to improve ACA or have a new, better plan that fixes their complaints. Instead they screech "no" and play Americans off each other to distract them from the oligarchs pulling the rug out from under them. I'm hoping for the best, but I remember all the shitty legislation passed during the Bush years and it's looking like more of the same.

How the fuck do you not simply get a higher premium from the fact that you have asthma? Insurance companies were actually telling him to fuck off?

t. a NEET

The premium would have to be so high that it defeats the purpose of having insurance. Sick people are expensive as fuck to treat - insurance companies cannot make a profit off of them. That's why the ACA was passed to force them to do it. That's why people get fined for not signing up and paying into the pool to offset the treatment costs of these people. Overall it's a garbage system but the ACA is basically a bandaid that made it a little better. Instead of trying to fix or improve it they're eviscerating it for no reason other than politics and fearmongering over "socialism" and "welfare" and "niggers".

>Insurance companies were actually telling him to fuck off?
Not him, but yeah, they'll do that. Not worth the effort for them to accurately price the risk.

Some would deny coverage, some would charge a ludicrous amount for piss poor coverage that didn't even cover all his meds sufficiently. It was really bad when we were younger since my family was poor and had a lot of trouble getting him the care he needed.

ACA ensured that you couldn't be denied coverage or charged more for preexisting conditions hence why it was such a blessing for my family. The fact that people want to go back to how things were and risk killing people like my bro makes my blood boil. It's either ignorance or malice towards their fellow Americans, and neither is acceptable when it needlessly puts lives at risk.

>Insurance companies were actually telling him to fuck off?

Yep. Repeal and go fuck yourself appears to be the plan.

To put it another way, offering health insurance to a person with a preexisting condition is like offering car insurance to a driver that you KNOW is going to total a minivan full of toddlers while driving drunk in the next year. It's a guaranteed loss and you're not going to do it - unless the government forces you...

>watching Veeky Forums argue politics

It's exclusively stereotypical conservative retards and brainwashed liberal retards in 90% of these threads. It's like watching two archetypes duke it out in an argument neither of them really understand the fundamentals of.

Stay uneducated so you can continue to disenfranchise your political party even further.

You do realize you don't HAVE to disagree with the other party right? You do realize you don't have to bandwagon every single belief right? Is it because it takes less effort, education, reliability, responsibility, personality, etc. to form your own opinions based off education and learned fact as opposed to just parroting whatever some hivemind headed by people acting in their own self-interest and not your own? Your view of the world is not sustainable and it makes no sense in any manner because its based entirely off belligerent stubbornness. I'm assuming you think its also entirely okay to tote the Confederate flag out of spite for black people; it's not racist until you make it that. Just like with your beliefs on healthcare and other irrationally skewed subjects, they aren't inherently flawed, but the motive makes you difficult to take seriously.

The important thing is that you've managed to feel super to everyone in thus thread, good job.

Get a job and pay for it yourself. You fucking Cuck. I'm not paying for your lazy ass.

It's not that hard to feel superior to a pack of retards that can't into basic policy

Except health insurance is literally life and death, while car insurance is just financial. Companies' profits don't take precedence over American lives breh. If we had universal healthcare that you could opt out of for private then I'd be fine with insurance companies being dick in the interest of capitalism, but we don't.

Wanting universal healthcare is pretty mainstream in the (D) party these days. The "progressive" arm of the democratic party makes me sick with their tumblrina whining, Bernie Sanders worship, and Tea Party-like obsession with political purity. Fuck them. But still fuck all conservatives and republicans a whole lot more.

t. centrist

Some cancer ridden 50 year old with no job no savings who can't even pay for insurance doesn't deserve to live.

If you're so fucking smart then feel free to educate us all.

Yes, everyone who couldn't get covered prior to ACA were all unemployed 50 year olds. Why is every argument against first world healthcare so hilariously stupid?

Campaigning hard for Trump 2020 I see.

learn a skill

>Why is every argument against first world healthcare so hilariously stupid?

It wasn't an argument against """""first world healthcare""""" it was an argument (more of a statement) against the idea that life has intrinsic value and should be protected regardless of cost to those that make their lives valuable.

The right has spent decades convincing the middle and lower classes of American that they "earned" they penny in their lives without anyone else's help and anyone who can't provide everything they need is a human parasite. That's why they vote against their own interests and that of all their fellow people in every election. It's poor against poor and the rich are laughing at us in Washington because we keep electing people who take our money and give us nothing back.

Nobodys making it illegal to buy healthcare dumbass

Walking is shit for both weight loss and cardio

>Sick people are expensive as fuck to treat

Well presumably he couldn't get insurance FOR FUCKING ASTHMA since he already has it. Getting insurance for treatment related to something you already have is more or less theft.

So when I asked about his insurance premium, I was thinking of everything other than asthma.

I'm not American, but if ACA was about allowing a cancer patient without insurance to suddenly get insurance after having been diagnosed with cancer, then ACA is fucking stupid.

See above.

Presumably you don't do it because they're not profit in it and so if the government forces you it has to bankrupt you in the long run...

This whole thing is shady.

love watching poor dipshit republicans slowly realizing what they voted for

Wow the right gets triggered so easily lel. Come join the rest if the first world Western society in making sure your people don't die unnecessarily

>anyone who can't provide everything they need is a human parasite.

Anyone that takes more from the system than they've contributed IS a parasite.

I'm not one to often accuse people of being shills, but you two (if not the same person) ARE using shill tactics.

Also

Classic shill tactic. Misinformation (no one is refused treatment) + emotional appeal + smugness with buzzword.

Life doesn't have intrinsic value, but any American worth shit would try to help his countrymen and not want them dying in the streets like it's fucking Nigeria. You're a pathetic human.

Like I said earlier ITT, the oligarchs are good at playing the middle class and poor off of each other. A redneck living with his family in a single wide trailer probably has more in common with a black dude in a Chicago project than he does with some fat cat in congress, but he's been tricked into thinking otherwise.

Republicans want to repeal the ACA so all the leftynogs can die quicker.

Nothing of value will be lost.

Yes ruining healthcare for the middle class so the little poor kids can have healthcare is a good thing

My healthcare went up to $400 a month with a $7k deductible. Please tell me how this is affordable and sustainable. I don't even want to have it now, but noooooo if I drop insurance I'll get fined up the ass. Please, please tell me how this is cheaper.

Strictly speaking, cheaper healthcare is good period. But it's very questionable whether or not the people in this thread actually want cheaper healthcare overall. I'm sure they want cheaper healthcare for themselves, but it's not clear that the structure they're trying to put in place is actually gonna be sustainable in the long run.

If you can't refuse people with pre-existing condition then it's just fucking stupid. It would be like me totaling my car and then getting insurance. At this point it doesn't even deserve the name of insurance.

>Getting insurance for treatment related to something you already have is more or less theft.
>putting corporate profits over the lives of people and children

Wew lad.

>no one is refused treatment

Bankrupting your family for an emergency room visit is not something to tout as a solution. And you will be denied treatment if you need medicine to treat a chronic condition like asthma where you need to pay up front. My mom had to cash out 9 years of retirement to pay medical bills after I got my leg cut (and infected badly later) when I was a teen. Yeah, they "didn't deny me treatment", but they did charge us an enormous amount of money just so a kid wouldn't die of sepsis or blood loss. That's not what the most powerful nation on the planet should be doing for its citizens.

You're one of the healthy whose wealth is being transferred to others.

Class warfare of a kind, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

ACA was intentionally made shittier by the right. Nobody denies that it has some glaring flaws. Wanting to fix the issues with it or having a newer better plan would be fine, but that is not what is happening so far. I agree that your anecdotal increase is bullshit, but fucking over millions and literally killing people is not a solution either. Simply scrapping the whole deal so we can go back to our third world system isn't any better than you paying out the nose for coverage. In fact it's worse, because that would kill people, not just cost you money.

>to help the less fortunate and to make the world a better place
Socialists break the evolution chain when the better survive while the losers don't spoil genetic pool with their weak genes

>Life doesn't have intrinsic value, but any American worth shit would try to help his countrymen and not want them dying in the streets like it's fucking Nigeria.

You're contradicting yourself. It doesn't matter if they're my countrymen or not. Their lives have no intrinsic value so it's of no consequence to me whether or not they die. In fact, with the increasing carbon footprint of our nation it would likely be better for me if they died.

>You're a pathetic human.

Emotional appeal implicating that humanity requires empathy for lesser individuals. The world and our nation is filled with so much filth - human garbage really. It's more humane to protect the interests of my family and I over the interests of some random individual. A random stranger's life has no value to me. Truly, it has no value to you either. You've deluded yourself into thinking that it does because it makes you feel good about yourself because of views that were likely imposed on you as a child.

I can tell you're a weak minded individual, so I wouldn't be surprised if your parents or friends got you into your worldview. But try to reflect on your worldview. It's one of self-righteousness based on false axioms.

Ah yes, the poor gene.

>

My point still stands that you were using misinformation to argue your point. Shill.

Ow, the edge. I can't believe you took the time to write that crap.

Just get a fucking job nigger. Not a single insurance I've got trough my employer care about my current health. And I use expensive medical services all the time

Are you an idiot? Do you know what the role of profit is and what the absence of profit means? Do you understand that a company that does not generate profits must necessarily cease its operation at some point? Profit = revenue - cost. If a company operates at a loss for too long a time, there comes a point at which it doesn't have the money to cover the costs anymore, at which point it must simply close down.

>muh evil profit

No. There HAS to be profit, for all business, all the time. (Realistically: most of the time.)

Did you just admit that your whole plan is to bankrupt the system because "muh children"? There's not gonna be any insurance for anyone once you bankrupt the fucking companies.

I know the healthcare system in the US is fucked because the cost is absolutely enormous, which isn't normal, but unsustainable, bankrupting "solutions" aren't actually gonna fix things.

>shill

This has become as meaningless as "cuck". It's just a fucking meme word that shows nobody should take you seriously.

>using misinformation

What misinformation? Everything I wrote was true to the best of my knowledge, but I'd like to fix that if I said something false.

Less intelligent individuals and those with serious inheritable medical disabilities are more likely to be poor. I assume you knew this and denied it with a snarky remark based on a false presumption to sway those who may be reading. Let me remind you that's not an argument. You're showing your true colors here. You're a weak minded individual that didn't create their own worldview but merely inherited it from their family, friends, or society.

I've already ascertained beyond a reasonable doubt that you're a weak minded individual with no actual convictions or ideologies of his own. No real point in staying past this.

I wouldn't mind paying more for health care knowing it's helping someone in need if we were a health and fitness driven society. Instead we're a nation okay with inhaling junky fast food, guzzling soda, being lazy, and promoting fat-acceptance. So we're gonna raise premiums so you can pay for their diabetes medication while they still live a lifestyle of slow death!

>No insurance for anyone!
>The people who you're arguing with don't have insurance anyway and have to pay ridiculous bills to just survive

I don't think you thought your position through.
No one here cares if all insurance companies go bankrupt tomorrow. They do not provide a valuable service to the vast majority of the fucking nation nor any population who is not at the very very very top of the fucking food chain.

You are desperately pushing insurance as this needed thing, but it's not. Not on any fucking level.

Healthcare shouldn't be a private endeavour to begin with. That was the biggest flaw of ACA from its inception. It tried to hard to stroke corporate and oligarchs cock, and fucked up a lot of things in the process. There was some undeniable good as well, which we should not abandon, but the basis of healthcare being private is the basis of why American healthcare is a global joke for all but the wealthiest.

If ACA is scrapped, it should be replaced with universal healthcare that you can opt out of in favor of private health care I'd you so choose. The current system is a bandaid, and I do not think it is a long term solution like you think I do. It should be a transitory system to getting a decent, government healthcare system in place that is motivated by helping the people, not squeezing them dry for profit. But you are right, I do not think profits should matter more than American lives, and you can quote me on that one.

>giving your empathy to people who will never work to pay it back
"Help those who help themselves" is a saying for a reason, retard.

>Veeky Forums btfo libcucks
I'm proud of you lads

Blame Obama for being a dumb nigger cuck and letting the bill pass with such low penalties that not enough young people signed up and now my premiums have gone up. Just make it single payer or allow doctors to refuse treatment for those whose can't pay. How fucking complicated is this smmhhhhh

We need mo money fo dem programs

>"people with inheritable medial disabilities are more likely to be poor"
I wonder why.
Also I'm not that guy and everything you said about him could be true. However it is a basic human behavior to have empathy for others. My world view the one I felt right about, if it lines up with others then so be it. Id go the extra mile and say that because you try to discredit people for falling into groups you went out of your way to be as different as possible.

>it is a basic human behavior to have empathy for others
I have empathy for hardworking people like me, not for fucking leeches

get a job you fucking mooch

I don't argue for shit like universal healthcare or welfare out of empathy or because I'm just all about kindness. It's not about being nice to poor people it's about saving society more money and bullshit in the long run. Having readily available healthcare = more preventative medicine and less reactionary medicine. Preventing disease is 1000x cheaper and easier than reacting when somebody shows up on your hospital's doorstep dying after years of neglect. Same with dealing with issues like hunger. It's always more expensive for society to deal with these problems after they get worse. It's easy to say "just let them die" or to try and argue from some social darwinist idea of genetics but that's just not how society works. We are a communal organism that relies on all of its parts. You are not an individual, or did you build your phone/computer yourself from materials you dug out of the earth?

>people who were born sick
>fucking leeches
>people who work so hard that they injure themselves
>fucking leeches
Also what's this "hard work" that you do?

>people who were born sick
They covered by their parent's insurance

>people who work so hard that they injure themselves
You can't get a serious injury from "hard working". You can get a serious injury by being a retard or at your workplace but work injury will grant you sick cash anyways

>empathy

damn.

thats a funny way to spell "laziness, lack of work ethic, lack of responsibility, no respect for authority, no respect for traditional values, and in general, feeling entitled to free shit"

>people who were born sick

don't you want abortions? cause thats a great to use abortions

>"you can't get a serious injury from hard working"
Someone's never worked a physically taxing job before. Also I don't why you put "working hard" in there, never even typed it.

I'm all for abortions.

then people wont ever be born sick. problem solved.

>Someone's never worked a physically taxing job before
Like what, being a mover and working 200 hours a week for 5 years straight? You can't get a serious injury just from a work except when you are retard and doing something dangerously stupid. Compare it to crossfit and conventional lifting

Oh shit fuck me I made a typo.

>being this out of touch with humanity

leaving humanity behind doesn't entail autism

Healthy people shouldn't be shouldering the monetary burden of the unhealthy

with that said someone needs to fix the current pricing system of the health industry

Honestly I can't even say anything against it. I've really read anything about someone aborting their child for the child's health reasons. I don't even know if people do that. I'm just ignorant with this specific topic.

They're covered until they're 26 and then they aren't, and won't be able to get their own because they'll have a pre-existing condition.

This also only applies if the parents have healthcare too you privileged fuck. You probably are too engrossed in your mommy's McMansion that you never thought to consider that people can't always rely on their parents to do shit.

fuck you
