Can you get Veeky Forums without doing deadlifts?

Can I big by just doing squats, bench, and some abdominal calisthenics? My universities gym doesn't have a designated deadlifting area, so you have to basically use the bit of mat outside of the squat rack (for some reason its got a fuck ton of machines but they all look gay so I refuse to use them, and also because I don't know what most of them do), which is a bit awkward for me anyway because I've never really done deadlifts much before.

My uni gym only has one squat rack, but there is an extra 15kg bar which I use for deadlifts/OHP. Suck it up and do it out on the mat.

however, big heavy compounds are a good idea even for aesthetics/general fitness, and judging from the nature of your question you don't have the experience yet to judge which ones you should/shouldn't be doing

If you insist on not doing deadlifts, you need to do more exercises to comprehensively """"""replace""""" them than any other exercise, but it can still be done

1. glutes
2. hamstrings
3. spinal erectors
4. some minor mid and upper back involvement
5. some potentially significant trap involvement
6. grip (static hold strength)

If you can still perform deadlift variants, I would recommend RDLs with a higher volume (these are easy to recover from in my experience) to hit your hamstrings, glutes, and spinal erectors. These also have some of the same trap building effects, might even be better than conventional deadlifts because the time under tension is much higher.

GHRs are also great for glutes and hamstrings (no shit), hypers are good for lower back.

Doing rows (BB, DB, any kind really but I prefer supported rows) will train your upper/mid back, and grip.

If you really want the upper body building effects of deadlifts, you can do rack pulls from the knees with loads much heavier than your deadlift - these will give you all the trap building effects and less of the lower back stress.

You don't need to do deadlifts.

DLs wil give you that high test boost but its pointless for aesthetics.

Just do hyperextensions. They're much simpler to do and they won't wreck your back.

I don't know why but I've found the opposite to be true, my traps are always much more tired after conventional than RDL. Maybe my form sucks.
