That's just how Arabs always called God. Christian Arabs also say Allah the same way Chinese Christians say Shangdi.

It literally means "The God", kinda.

Al - Ilah is a better way of saying "the god" in Arabic and other Semitic languages. Similar to Western Europeans, they called God, God (Deus, Godt, etc.) "Al-[a]lla[h]'

To continue, Elagabalus is a Latinization of Aramaic (or some other Semitic language in Syria at the time) . It is better rendered as "El-Ah, Jabal" which means "The Mountain God". Referring to the mountain in Emesa Syria which the locals worshiped a stone (likely meteorite) that fell on the mountain ages ago.
