In my experience it inadvertently makes other (uneducated) people bitter, judgemental, and jealous. Example, hanging out with a girl who is clearly overweight by 50 pounds, horrible diet, sedentary. We're at a restaraunt with other friends, I'm eating a bbq bacon cheeseburger (because I planned and ate moderately for breakfast and lunch). She's eating something similar, but then blurts out how unfair it is, "See, he eats the same thing I do and doesn't gain weight, where does he put it?"

Completely dismissive of the facts that I: lift weights 6x week, count my macros and budget for cheat meals, and have done so every day for 3 years. You get what you give. Put forth no effort into your diet, you get no leniency with it. Boohoo.

I don't do cardio. The rare exception is perhaps during the last couple weeks of a cut, in which case it's 20-30 mins on an exercise bike. But you're talking about a grand total of maybe 3 or 4 weeks out of the year (if I cut more than once), not an inclusion in my normal life by any means.

I definitely get more attention now, but it's mostly indirect. Like ill notice some some people turn their head slightly as I walk by. DESU though its mostly guys that do it, also its mostly guys that approach me, its 3rd week of classes and I've already had at least one guy in each of my classes ask me about my workout, what i eat, etc.

As for the jeff seid/connor murphy stuff, its mostly just their personalities combined with crazy high levels of testosterone in their system. although desu ive never been as ripped as they are, I imagine I may get more looks if i was.

Yes natty. I've run hypertrophy splits ever since day one, so I'm obviously biased. They've worked well for me so of course that's my recommendation (assuming aesthetics is a higher priority goal than strength).

Godspeed user. Just make sure you're putting equal effort into your diet that you are into lifting. At that height and weight you should plan on +300 calories above maintenance tdee for at least the next 6 months, taking in 1g of protein per bodyweight (overkill but better to be safe than under estimate protein needs).

Just ran a suicide cut, -1000 deficit.

First 3 months or so I just stuffed my face with brocolli and drank like 2 GOWAD (gallon of water a day) to try and feel less hungry.

Shit kinda works, you'll be hungry anyways.

3 months in I started an Ephedrine Caffeine stack for appetite suppression and it's basically meth desu, do not recommend, pretty addictive lol.

Routine is an upper lower split with lots of volume.

Volume + intensity, doesn't really matter how much you lift, just do each set in hypertrophy rep range, and do each set until you're at 'almost failure'

It should be hard, if it's not hard, you're not tearing the muscle fibers bad enough for good gains.

When you have minimal muscle mass on your body, you can even gain muscle while cutting, if you lift hard and with a lot of effort.

The more dyel you are the easier it is to gain muscle. So it's possible.

Once you reach a certain size, it becomes impossible though.

I'm actually pretty inconsistent with actual exercises. I just do my staple shit (BP, squats, etc) and then 3-5 accessory exercises depending on time, try to be more strict but my school gym is almost always packed.

Cheers for response. I've been skeptical of the whole bulk till you can't eat meme here and think slow gains over a long period a better approach. Reassuring to see such huge improvement done by you without the powershit mentality of 15 big macs a day. Keeps me honest and motivated.

I'll post up collages of the first 2 years shown month by month. Here's first year, 2nd year in next post. Come May i'll have the 3rd year finished. First year you can see I had some wild yoyo weight fluctuations, was still trying every diet under the sun (PSMF, Keto, Low Fat, Low Carb, you name it) because I was still in denial about calories in calories out. Also hadn't learned to cook very well yet so my protein intake was still very bro (shakes, bars, plain chicken breast, egg whites, etc). (Spoiler: eventually discovered simple IIFYM, never needed to try any other diets again).

Pretty much. Soon as the word calories or lifting comes out of your mouth you start to sound holier than thou and they get defensive, virtually never ends well.

>nutrition
>full muscle contraction
>effort

Do your shit with proper form, always as much range of motion as possible, and actually do work, your muscle should feel sore, good sore, not a sharp pain.

if you go to the gym and you work your whatever you're doing, say your back, for an hour, until it's so sore and so much VOLUME has been done to it because you hit it for an hour, you're going to grow, provided you eat enough (but not too much! small surplus).

These SS guys think they can make the same gains lifting for 30 mins 3 times a week with no intensity as guys on brosplits that are burning the shit out their muscles and tearing those muscles fibers like your prom date after too many drinks

Routine wise nothing changes for me when bulking or cutting, the same amount of volume is done (weights may just be reduced while cutting).

Diet wise, yes, if you're on a long sustained cut (2+ months) you need to make sure you're protein intake remains very high to prohibit what muscle atrophy you can due to the required caloric deficit. More fibrous veggies to keep you full due to smaller portions on the cut. I personally eat very little fat which naturally allows for "larger" meals (in terms of volume, not calories).

The leanness gave the appearance of something noteworthy, but in objective comparison (see pic, same shorts 30lbs heavier) to two years later it's clear I was dyel as fuck. This is why I tell people who think dieting down to You sure you don't do abs?

Isolating abs (for the sake of looks, not strength) is as equal a meme as SS+Gomad. It's entirely unnecessary. The only thing that determines if your abs are defined is how low your bodyfat is. I think my collages demonstrate that. Despite never training them, you'll see them in various stages of clarity purely based on how much BF I'm carrying, bulking vs cutting. Just look at the first two pics of the first year. Dropping 20 pounds of BF magically got me a six pack. There's no amount of crunches, planks, and situps you could do in a one month period to provide THAT much visual change. It's a hard pill for traditionalists to swallow, but it is what it is.

Pic related is me. 6'4". Eating around 3100 calories maintenence. 195 lbs 16.5% bodyfat (calculated this week).

I'd say I have a pretty good metabolism if that matters. How long realistically would it take me to cut to 8-10% and what caloric level should I be eating at?
