I honestly thought this was a meme for the longest time. Then I switched from a commercial gym to my uni gym because of money issues. Lots more asians at the uni gym, and I saw so many of them on their phones watching youtube videos of Kpop or what looked like anime compilations with music. Shit blows my mind, don't get how a cartoon and really girly music can get you pumped up

I like AoT's as well, but it isn't well suited for this particular purpose. I like grandiose music as much as the next guy, but it does engage me in a way that helps with working out.
I don't what those guys were listening to, but there is plenty of "Eastern" music that can get you pumped up. If AMVs and the more hardcore Korean music are anything to go by, then a large portion of the asian music market is rock/alternative just like America. We just see the pop stuff because it is specifically that "popular".
