how can this program ever be recommend to a complete beginner?

i know you're supposed to think long term
i know you're supposed to build a good base, which 531 beginner does
i know your technique will improve a lot using a training max

and all that good jazz

BUT, take someone who's average, to below average, who's never lifted before, sedentary all his life. he might start out with ridiculous numbers like:

* 60 kg deadlift
* 40 kg squat
* 30 kg bench
* 20 kg ohp

wendler STILL recommends that this person does 2.5 kg jumps for upper and 5 kg jumps for lower.
even if you never deload, that's only a 43 kg increase in bench in a YEAR as a novice

everything pro stated above couldn't possibly justify this. even if you did SS for half a year, and fucked around for half a year doing bro splits, you'd still be better off than 5/3/1 in terms of everything.

i just don't get it

Cutting from 103 to 93kg (+-99 now)
i'm on a RPE based upper/lower split (LxUxLUx) i start with a main lift and work up to a top single, do one backoff set for 2-3 reps and a backoff set for 5-15 reps. Afterwards i have some heavy competition like assistance work and some medium-heavy non competition assistance work.
Due to my deficit i am unable to fully recover in time, having a hard time hitting singles between 92-95% on normal lifting days.
Should i cut on volume during my calorie deficit, or keep more in the tank and work up to RPE 7-8 instead of 9-10?

so which program would be good for someone that is looking for something after SS that mainly focuses on powerlifting but also does some BB work on the side?
