Yeah that's kind of stupid. My parents are still alive but they gave me full control of their assets (about 9M in properties, and they have about 900k in the bank). They are still very frugal people because they grew up poor, but the recognize that getting a head start in life is incredibly important and will most likely dictate your finishing position. Besides being able to fund whatever path I choose in life, I asked them for 100k to invest in bitcoin in may. They wired it to me the next day and to date I have made 1.8 million (which shocked the hell out of them.
