Why is he tearing down the great work of his predecessor?

Because Rhodesia is back.

Sorry for giving kleptocratic murders like Mugabe and Mnangagwa hedgemony over your country and billions of dollars Zimbabwe. It's my fault I allow my state to give your government officials all that ""foreign aid"" in exchange for your oppression.

No. Simply put Mugabe pulled out a bunch of loans from the Chinese government to keep the country functioning, because his land redistribution scheme resulted in incompetent people and thieves obtaining control of farming equipment they either didn't know how to use or sold for scrap. China then demanded repayment of these bonds in US Dollars and not Zim Dollars which have been discontinued since 2014. That was about the time Zim started to have major stability problems as massive cuts were made to national agencies (healthcare, railroads, power, schools, etc) and the capital was in permanent lock down by the military due to riots.

This has only recently ended with Zim's military forcing Mugabe out, which has stopped most of the rioting for now. The 100+ year leases are being done in an attempt to win back farmers who simply setup shop in Zambia and Zaire. It probably won't work though, because there is no point for those people to leave and rebuild irrigation infrastructure in a country that spent the past thirty years mismanaging it, causing the current Drought (due to soil drying out because of overgrazing etc).

what oppression? The country barely functions. If things don't start improving a civil war is likely, and South Africa will be asked to cleanup the mess just as they themselves begin to have issues with Zuma.

What is it that really allows incompetent people to end up in their position? Is it all nepotism? Do countries not seek out talent from within their own borders or outside of it?

I BLESS THE FUCKING RAINS

Uh, they already had ETERNAL leases, because they owned the land, that didn't stop teh govt from killing them and stealing their land, why would this latest promise do so?

Loyalty > Competence

Ability is for foreign advisors

>whites have "permission" to rent the land
Oh wow. How fucking generous.

Nepotism, ethnic/tribal loyalty, bribery, there's a whole host of possible reasons.

Yeah I've seen this before.
Any farmer foolish enough to go back and get stuck in improving the land will just be murdered for it next decade.

>There is a link between the recent economic decline in Zimbabwe and white emigration

Holy shit Wikipedia hasn't deleted this yet?????

Usually loyalty. But Mugabe himself is old, so is Zuma. They are products of the last generation and were unable to figure out the new post-cold war world thrust upon them. It's why nearly all countries have term limits, because it can happen to anyone. Their countries stayed afloat until one day debts had to be serviced in real money (USDs) which was when drastic cuts to the government was made. Loyalties ended, and Mugabe was forced out by his own army before things began spiraling out of their control.

Zim's government never killed any of the whites. No reason to, they'd just pack up and leave when their land was stolen, for adjacent countries that welcomed their business. This is known as "capital flight" and it is why wealth redistribution doesn't work. Most of the dead white farmers come from random bandits and thieves, since government soldiers are paid well enough to be above that (well enough where they pushed Mugabe out when he cut their salary).

Yeah, no. Officially they didn't murder the whites, unofficially they sent their party loyalists to attack farms and to kill or drive off the whites.

maybe back in the 70s or 80s, but not recently. They don't have enough money, hence the use of foreign debts in the first place.

I APOLOGIZE ZIMBABWE

Well that's nice of him.

Not like it was obtained in a fair way to be honest aka kick niggers off land and shunt them into reserves.

Ever heard of sin of omission? Also, the gubmint punished those who wroted "wrong" by denying them AIDS medicine.

Any white people who take them up on that offer and actually go to live down there are fucking insane.
The ways they murder white farmers down there is brutal as fuck.
Let them fucking starve.

>Loyalty > Competence

This is the primary rule in every government. If you want to keep power, you stuff all posts with people who will support you.

Holy fuck are they seriously incapable of tending a simple farm?

And now Brendan Taylor is playing with the national Cricket team again, things are looking up.

so what are the chances anyone takes him up on this

>they are going to use "white" slaves for peasant work
Nice.

Brexiters might be desperate enough to try.

It's private oppression user. What the state does is allow private power to act with impunity. It's a true corporate state. The supposed malfunction of Zimbabwe like many places around the world and Africa especially is actually a contrived effort of the powers that be. ""Natural resources"" are much easier to obtain when the people who should be managing them have no property rights or means of democratic control.
This deal with land /pol/ shit posts about is a perfect example. This land issue has nothing to do with race, its purpose is to maximize corporate profit.

Private hiearchy is no less oppressive than the state, corporations are private command economies.
You will notice that Zim actually works very well when it comes to ensuring the prosperity of private power.

They fucked up by dollarizing the economy, now their products are overvalued.

What a sad case of mismanagement, from hyperinflation to deflation and not a single year of healthy growth in between.
