i used to, in hindsight it was a waste of time. i now do it one 1-2 times a week and it's enough. the only reason you should train your abs that much is if you're going to be shirtless and want a sick ab pump and even then training them hard prior to the even in quesiton is enough

I do kettlebell swings and pullups (in addition to DL of course). That puts a hurt on my core.
