Just found out that I've been benching 1pl8 not 2pl8

>Just found out that I've been benching 1pl8 not 2pl8
>Thought it was counting every plate on the bar

I assume that's what most Veeky Forumsposters mean when they say "I bench 2pl8"

The bar weights the same as a plate so I also thought that as 3 plate

this is what i thought and was always telling people that i benched 2pl8 from the first day

>thinking the first 2 plates count
>mfw these newfags don't realize lmao1plate means 225 lbs

kek i wonder how many idiots on this board are doing this.
>2, 45lbs plates on the bar
>squeezes out 1 rep
>goes home and brags on fit
>"HEY GUYS I BENCH TWO PLATE"

1pl8 = 60kg
2pl8 = 100kg
3pl8 = 126kg
4pl8 = 144kg

First plate is 60, second is 40, so they form a geometric sequence

So what did you guys think when people here say they OHP one plate?

>I got my first weight on the bar! It's no longer a naked bar! I'm finally doing one plate!

yo bro u fckin retarded lmao

>imagines SS gnome trying to balance one plate hanging off the left end of a barbell
>FUUUUAARKK 1PLAAAET

In America:

1pl8 = 135 = 61.2 kg
2pl8 = 225 = 102 kg
3pl8 = 315 = 142.8 kg
4pl8 = 405 = 183.7 kg

Also not sure why you only added 26 kg going from 2pl8 to 3pl8, should have added 40 kg for 140 kg. 4pl8 should also be 180.

Legit had someone do this to me the other day.

Said he benched "two thirty five". He meant two 35 lb plates on the bar.

So you assumed fuckers were putting an uneven amount of plates on the bar?

>3pl8

Probably thought that 3pl8 was 1.5pl8s on either side

He was making a subtle joke. Geometric sequence of (2/3)*(the previous difference) + (previous total).

It would be interesting to know what they considered 0.5 of a plate. You and I would probably say 10 kg, but who knows what these jokers would say?

>2017
>still thinking a plate is 45 lbs

A 1pl8 bench is 245 lbs.

>For some reason my homegym kit didn't come with half-pl8s, luckily my hacksaw was able to easily fix that problem

Found the brainlet

Is this total or on one both sides of the bar?

kek

2 pl8 = 2 45 lb plates on each side of the bar(a normal Olympic bar not like one of those 10-15 lb standard bars).

Total

Call me retarded, but where the hell does the extra 6/4 kgs come for 3/4 plate, respectively?

you think that is bad?
>After 2 years of liftan i found out every bar in the gym is 40lbs instead of 45....

Yeah why would you count the first plate? You're just creating a fully assembled barbell. You don't add anything till the second plate

two 10s and a 2.5...

no its 45... fuckin idiot

It's simple children.

You have four 45 pound plates. You put 2 of these plates on each side of the bar(which weighs 45 pounds). You count the bar in the the "2 pl8 weight ratio". If you can lift that you're officially lifting 2pl8.

>inb4 the bar doesn't count

If you believe the trolls that the bar doesn't count in the overall total. Do some simple research online.. and there you have it.

retard

>4 plates
>2pl8

top kek. Troll harder.

Feels bro

>He benches with a bar
