Can you or someone else explain "hypertrophy days..." more reps less weigth? And how much you use in lateral raise

I do PPL and on push days alternate between heavy bench/light OHP and heavy OHP/light bench, for lateral raise I start at 15 and work my way up to 35 (35 isn't with the strictest form but gets me a good pump)
i can do 70s but after that it gets hard to put them into place
