Unfortunately I'm broke, in debt and moving back in with my parents

Unfortunately I'm broke, in debt and moving back in with my parents.

That said I can no longer finance my diet of eating 100-150+ grams of protein everyday.

How fucked are my gains going to be? I'll be stuck only eating cheap stuff like rice and eggs, no more whey or meats because I can't afford it and parents won't buy it for me.

I'll be lucky enough to get 50-75g protein a day now. Are my gains going to leave me?

depends on where you're at

if you're dyel you'll be fine and make slow gainz, but if you're advanced you'll plateu, and don't be surprised if you lose some strength

I've been lifting for 5 years come May. I e always consumed 150+ protein per day since I started lifting. I rep out 1/2/3/4, but I do a PPL-UL type routine now with a lot of bro stuff.

I'm concerned my body composition will change drastically, am I worrying for nothing? I'm praying the whole "protein is overrated" meme is true, or I'm fucked.

it won't be nearly as fatal as you're imagining senpai, you'll be fine though I'd recommend watching your volume as to avoid fatigue since you probably won't have enough brotons to rebuild your cells

maybe you can compensate and focus all your protons on your workout days and the day thereafter

most protein atleast,
days without any would be musclesuicide anyway

You don't need as much protein as you think. Really, the supplement industry markets protein powders and "One gram per lb of bodyweight, bro!" because they can sell you expensive fucking protein powders. A couple years ago, I switched from high protein to high carb, moderate protein and lower fat for a bulk and I got STRONG AS FUCK. It was fantastic.

A few years later, after dealing with injuries and shit, I'm trying to focus more on my health, although I am still lifting, I'm not as strong as I once was, but I'm on a vegan diet now. I eat lots of carbs, and still get a decent amount of protein and I've been making gains absolutely no problem.

tl;dr, prioritize carbs, you don't need as much protein as you need. If you eat right and train, you won't lose gains

Get job

>tfw when I got 290grams of protein the other day according to my fitness pal

Seriously, this. The supplement industry is such a scam. They got maybe two or three worthwhile products, the rest is just trash, snake oil stuff.

That's such an unnecessary amount of protein. Even when I still ate meat, when I was getting around 100-120g of protein per day, I still gained a shit load of strength and my energy for workouts was through the fucking roof from all the carbs. As someone who doesn't eat any meat now, I've been progressing perfectly fine and having no problems.

I'm just getting protein at every meal, every meal is focusing on protein so my body is never without amino acids. It adds up quickly over the day.

Yeah, that's all well and good. But would if I told you that you could get enough protein while having more energy and following a healthier diet and being able to eat more?

I'm going to assume a lot of that protein comes from meat, right? Which most of the time comes with what? Fat. So let's say instead of 290g of protein, you cut that down to say 150g, that's fairly moderate! So because protein contains 4 calories per gram, that would be saving 560 calories total, which assuming it was meat, probably had some fat in there too. Now take that, and replace it with carbs. Assuming you eat good carbs, (beans, lentils, whole grain pasta, rice etc) you're going to be consuming a lot more fiber and micronutrients and the carbs give you energy. So you get to eat more food, for the same calories, and more energy and better for your health.

But hey, that's just my two cents.

This should be your n1 concern. Being jobless could impact your mental health and consequently your gainz more than not being able to buy processed eggs.

>I can no longer finance my diet of eating 100-150+ grams of protein everyday
Unless you weigh 100 - 150lbs then you've been doing it wrong nigger. You are supposed to be consuming 1 - 2g of protein per pound of body weight. 100g a day of protein is cheap as fuck.
20$ worth of protein should get you through the month and then you only need to make up 60g in your diet.

>1 - 2g of protein per pound of body weight
1.8g of protein per kg or 0.8-1g of protein per lb of bodyweight
Son, you now have bigger trouble than fucking bicep curls and squats. Get your shit together first.

I've been jobless my entire adult life. I'm 30 years old. Don't have any qualifications or the skills to obtain employment.

How do I avoid mental health issues? I withdrew from society and therefore have no social pressure to succeed. Nobody besides my parents know I even exist, and they gave up on me while ago. Will definitely end it when my parents die if they don't leave me with enough resources to survive.

Stop perpetuating this lie that you need 1 to 2 grams per pound of bodyweight.

>"that protein intakes in the range of 1.3-1.8 g · kg(-1) · day(-1) consumed as 3-4 isonitrogenous meals will maximize muscle protein synthesis"

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1844991

>"Present data indicate that strength athletes should consume approximately 12-15% of their daily total energy intake as protein, or about 1.5-2.0 g protein/kg.d-1 (approximately 188-250% of the U.S. recommended dietary allowance). Although routinely consumed by many strength athletes, higher protein intakes have not been shown to be consistently effective and may even be associated with some health risks."

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1844991

Protein requirements are NOT that high, notice how in the previous example it states that 1.5-2g per KILO of bodyweight. You've been fooled by an industry to sell you supplements. Wake up.

>That said I can no longer finance my diet of eating 100-150+ grams of protein everyday.
A gallon of milk contains 128g of protein and is less than $3, you're planning on spending less than a $100/month on food?

Be social, read books, exercise and gym obviously. Find hobbies, don't sit around playing video games all day. LOOK for a job, hell even if it's some minimum wage shit show, it is BETTER than nothing. Basically keep busy and keep being productive

>2g per KILO
so 0.9g/lb instead of 1g/lb?

wow much difference

fuck off veg faggot

Socialising is boring and pointless unless you're a normalfag who is able to use it to your advantage.

Reading I do a lot of.

Lifting I've been doing my entire adult NEET life.

Working "any job" seems pointless to me. My parents provide me with food and shelter, that's all I need. Without them around I'd have zero attachment to this world, therefore working to just go home to an empty house would be pointless.

I lol because if you were me you'd have probably killed yourself a decade ago kekekkekeke

stop this meme you fuck

For a 200 lb person or 90 kilos.

The range is 1.5 - 2.0g

At base. 90 x 1.5 = 135g
At max 90 x 2.0 = 180g

Or even the former study concerning 1.3 to 1.8g per kilo

90 x 1.3 = 117g
90 x 1.8 = 162g

The point being. A 200lb person doesn't need 200 grams of protein, or following your retarded dietary advice which the study I referenced denounces, 2g per pound of bodyweight? So 400g of protein for a 200lb person?

Yeah that's retarded, take a course on nutrition.

So is this bait or are you being serious? I mean do you want to be a dependent on your parents your whole life? Is a woman going to want to marry a man who lives with his parents? Are you going to feel accomplished at the end of this finite existence we call life and look back and say "You know what, I'm glad all I did was life off of my parents".

I get you could be in a bad situation, but this is meant to motivate you to do something. Work, volunteer, hell, you can still join the military. They'll give you housing, food, insurance and work experience. Also, just because you join doesn't mean you have to be given a gun and go kill people. Maybe you could do the Navy or Airforce, you get numerous benefits, and job skills. If I was in your situation, honestly, that's what I would do. Employers and colleges love military service, you get pay, insurance, health care, a job, experience and if you want to go to school after they can pay for it.

Just my two cents, man.

1. I have asthma, my country doesn't allow asthmatics

2. Why would I want to get married? I have nothing to offer a woman besides a muscular body and a penis.

That said, the boat had already sailed for me.

All I can hope for now is to win the lottery and just buy women and use them until they're no longer attractive and move onto the next one.

whey is cheap. You can buy a month supply for like a hundred bucks.

How much is a month supply of chicken? Probably twice that

2 chicken breasts for me is 10 dollars
2 breasts a day x 7 days = 70 dollars
70 dollars x 4 weeks = 280 dollars a month

I use 60g of whey a day, that's 420g a week, that's 1680g a month.

it's 20 dollars per kilo for whey so if i buy 2 kilos a month thats 40 dollars a month with a little bit of whey left over.

>seriously. just buy whey

That's douchebaggery at it's finest. Once you grow out of the whole "fuck bitches, get money" phase and start to get older, although I am younger than you, you're going to want a mate. It's biology, we're programmed to want to have sex and children and eventually find someone to form a relationship with. Unless you have some sort of socialization problem, almost everyone at one point wants to find someone to fit their mold. That doesn't mean because you're quiet or introverted that you don't want want, I'm introverted, but I still enjoy socializing. I'm talking about shutting yourself off from the world and people, if you're doing that, that's extremely unhealthy and unproductive. The more people you know and talk to, the more friends you can have, the larger your network, the larger your support system and opportunities will arise from that.

>2 breasts is $10

At shaws I can regularly pick up 5-6 chicken breasts for $12 I don't know what you're doing wrong

oh, right. They're $10 a kilo.

so it works out at around $56 a month.

Anyway, it's still cheaper to buy whey

but then you don't get to make based chicken + pasta and chicken + rice recipes

i'm just showing OP how inexpensive everything really is.

Your math is wrong.

If it's $10/kilo for ~5-6 chicken breasts and you use 2 day, that's $112 a month

our bodies only use .66 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, depending on the individual this maxes at around .77/lb, and that's actual athletes

If you're a natural you could even go as low at .45/lb and you would be fine. The whole 1g/lb myth comes from the supplement industry

I feel like for basically everyone trying to be serious about putting on mass 100g of protein is a good bench mark.

Just buy a whole chicken. You can get a chicken for ~$5 in Texas where I live, which you can then bake with lemon and homemade compound butter to have delicious chicken breasts, legs, thighs, wings, and broth to make incredible meals with for a whole week.
