Are you telling me.. 1 pl8 OHP is only 40kg in total?

are you telling me.. 1 pl8 OHP is only 40kg in total?

so I've been 1pl8ing ohp for reps all this time yet my other lifts are so weak?
am I wrong or what

1pl is 60kg you fucking mong

lmao no, you've been doing lol1bar OHPs

ok so.. if 1/2/3/4 is how many pl8s you have on EACH side of the bar,

1 pl8 = 45 lbs
for each side, x2, = 90 lbs in total

90 lbs = 40kg

The bar weighs 20kg. If you held two plates in hand, disconnected from a bar, and OHPed that, you'd OHP 40kg.

ANOTHER "don't count the bar" thread

I thought the consensus was that you didn't count the bar

the weight I OHP in total, NOT including the bar, is 40kg, am I pressing 1 pl8 then or not?

I must be surely

>i dont count the weight im lifting
yeah i also warm up with 0kg.

So when you ohp just the bar, you ohp 0 kg?
You fucking retard

Jesus fucking Christ why would you not count the fucking bar?
You're pressing the bar, you count the bar.
The weight for a barbell lift is always plates on both sides + the bar. Not just the plates. Not just the plates on one side. Everything you press, you press.

1/2/3/4 = 60/100/140/180 kg = 135/225/315/405 lbs
(which is not exactly the same because 20kg = 44lbs. lb plates are 45, kg plates are 20, which is why there is a slight difference in the exact weight of "X plates")

40kg for the weight, 20kg for the bar yes?

why the fuck would anyone count the bar? do you also count your fingernails? the dirt on your hands? hair on your arms?

You count the bar

1 plate is 60kg

if you are pressing plates over your head without bar then don't count it, otherwise the bar has weight too

so I literally just added 20kg to all my fucking lifts like that? what the fuck man

Lmao look at this retard. Incredible

retard strength

underrated

>he doesn't count the fingernails

is the 1/2/3/4 thing 1rm or 5rm? never figured it out.

Lifts are always 1RM unless specified otherwise

Is 135 lb OHP difficult to achieve?

apparently not. just think you're actually pressing 2/3 of the weight and learn the bar counts too
oops

>1pl is 60kg you fucking mong
>1pl8
>60kg

please post a picture of a 60kg plate you fucking retard. It's 20kg

nice bait but ill bite

1pl8 is the term for one 20kg plate on each side of a 20kg barbell => 60kg

Is this actually bait?
1pl8 = one plate on each side + bar = 60kg
2pl8 = two plates on each side + bar = 100kg
3pl8 = three plates on each side + bar = 140 kg

so when someone lifts """""2pl8""""" they lift 4 plates AND the bar

Why don't they just say so?

and 4*20kg=80kg not 100kg

you're either baiting hard or dumb as shit

yes 4*20 is 80 but the FUCKING BAR WEIGHS 20KG

>why dont they just say so?

because it's the term someone came up with and everyone started using

hahaha you seriously count the bar? what else do you count your fat fuck body aswell lmao

OP ignore the other memers in this thread.

Both the olympic bar and your standard plate weigh 20kg.

This means that the bar = one plate = 20kg

So when someone refers to 1pl8, they mean just an empty bar.

At 40kg you're lifting 2pl8 (2x20kg)

here's one for (you)

...

plates arent in your hands dumbfuck, you are in fact lifting a bar that has plates on it, so dont start counting from 0 but from the weight of the bar, which is 20 kg sometimes less or it can be more

Holy shit so I'm 3x5 1234 and all you think you're hot shit 1rm 1234? HAHA holy shit

>Ive been struggling to get a 45lb plate on either side of the bar for OHP for 4 months
>ive been 1pl8ing since the beginning

o-oh

y-you too

Hehe xd

I have definitive proof that the bar does NOT count

I can bench 2.25 pl8 (45kg each side of the bar).
I can dumbbell bench 45kg in each hand.
If the bar counted, the total weight would be 110kg. 110/2 = 55kg
I cannot dumbbell bench 55kg in each hand. I can only do 45kg, the same amount I put on each side of the bar.

Therefore the bar does NOT count.
