A friend of mine decided to start lifting with me and one of the first things he asked me was what kind of routine he should do. I said it depends on what kind of body he wants to achieve so I asked him to send me a picture of his goal body.
Pic related is what he sent me
What the hell kind of routine do boxers even do? Isn't it more all about endurance training? Do they even ever squat? I don't even ...
Can you guys point me in the right direction? I honestly have no idea here
Props to kirkland for being a man and throwing that left hook after being knocked out in mid air.
Cameron Lewis
hahahAYE ALL DAY
This is the guy that potato niggers believe will knock out Money May in one punch. KEK
Luke Johnson
>Super Extreme Slow Motion >it doesn't have any more frames than the regular video
Carson Perry
Connor in a fight would knock the fuck out of any pro boxer near his weight. Good Can't argue that he sounds like a gimp singing that Limerick though.
Aiden Baker
normies dont know the difference between 24-60 and 120 fps
Hunter Gutierrez
I was speaking to the aesthetics. Cucknelo is a light heavy posing as a middleweight and Tim is a welter. But if you like power look no further than Anthony Joshua
guys don't get sidetracked, this is not a thread about how good conor mcgregor is or whatever the fuck. how does one achieve Canelo's body type???
Juan Martin
Genetics, cardio and light weight lifting
Kayden Thompson
>Do they even ever squat? 80% of a boxer's punching power comes from his legs... so maybe.
John Martinez
OP here I was acually enjoying the banter
I wouldn't be surprised if this somehow gets derailed into a gay porn thread, considering where we are
Josiah Baker
basically in boxing, because of the fact that most of what you do is body weight, and you try to stay as lean as possible for your weight class, you end up just looking like whatever your genetics will dictate, if they dictate you can look like canelo, you will, but trying to get the "look" of a boxer without actually boxing is easy, just run a lot and lift three days a week. source, I started boxing last year, and was pretty musclebound, and am now like 35 lbs slimmer, and hit harder, but I look worse, and my chest has atrophied from no bench.
Gabriel Mitchell
This. If your buddy want to look like a boxer, boxing gyms would love to have him.
That being said, how he looks isn't going to be THAT different on one or another lifting program so long as it's not retarded. It'll be genes, insertions, diet, recovery, etc. that make most of those decisions. Why not just get stronger for the first year and then start changing focus?
Liam Williams
>not going for Wlad mode
tell your friend he's a cuck
Kevin Baker
So SS+GOMAD for the first year then
Cameron Gray
See: not retarded.
Tyler Hall
>a friend of yours
Nice try kid
Tyler Davis
the klitchkos must look like fucking greek statues in real life. that physique would look big on a manlet, but on a 200cm+ ukrainian behemoth...no homo but I'd admire the shit out of him if I ever met him. NO HOMO.
Austin Collins
>do they squat Nigger, punches are all about Hip and Leg work.
Boxing is 99% footwork.
Aiden Thomas
99% sounds like a lot bro.
Adam Martin
>getting punched without falling >moving that there neck and upper body while remaining centered, and not falling >mantaining balance >using your footwork to move around, while balanced >closing in or opening the range >generally just jumping around like a faggot for a long time >most of the force on a straight or hook comes from literally rotating your body in the right manner and it's all legs >even a jab requires proper footwork
If you have shit footwork you'll look like a goddamn QWOP ragdoll swining his arms like a retard.
Xavier Carter
Why would I feel the need to lie on a chinese oolong-tea ceremony preparation imageboard?
Isaac Rogers
Wlad is "only" 198cm. Vitali is a bit taller I think.
Cooper Sullivan
I love the klitscho brothers. Imagine getting corned by one of them in a dark alley baka
Camden Johnson
Where's his pecs?
Zachary Roberts
Those lefts to the body are a thing of beauty
Luis Edwards
isnt the answer as simple as lifting weights and then getting lean? it's pretty easy to look like an athlete, it's a lot different to be one of course
Chase Turner
I started boxing 4 years ago and I divide the year in a period of strenght training and another of endurance training. For the strenght training I usually do 30' of boxing and then a push/pull routine (bench, ohp, squats, rows, pull ups, ecc) 4x week. For the endurance training I do intensive boxing with bodyweight exercise during rests in between rounds and after boxing (push ups, pull ups, shadow boxing with weights, squats+ohp, so a shitload of cardio). So if he want a boxer phisique he have to do some basic exercises and a ton of boxing of course
Ryan White
Looks like less than 15% body fat focusing on calisthenics and abs(not a big chest). His shoulders are probably from a lot of boxing related shit. Lots of boxing cardio. He has no traps which makes me believe his routine is mostly calisthenics Arms/lats from a lot of Chinups and pushup variations.
Grayson Davis
just because your boxing clubs make amateurs do only BW exercises doesn't mean that pros don't lift weight, because they fucking do
Juan Jenkins
Yeah but they don't have huge muscles
Nolan Evans
wtf why don't you bench?
Your chest is your "upper core" and as far as hits go, besides the hips, is the number one muscle group for a hit. A real punch has a bunch of chest behind it not just tricep and hip pivot.
Go fucking bench some dude you'll hit harder I swear.
