mostly did shitty dumbell/calisthenics workouts at home + long distance running until i discovered the gym late summer, then learned very slowly how to do stuff thanks to some great dudes

Used to do "my own thing", 2-3h workouts 3 times (monday core and back, wednsday legs and friday arms and chest) a week plus long distance running on sundays. Now I'm on 2 Suns 5/3/1 as I don't have time for long workouts and for now it feels like its working, still have DYEL stats though. Can't really do 5 workouts a week and running on weekends since I've also have other stuff going on (job + looking for a PhD) but I try to be constant.

I literally have no idea. Genetics? Some people have told me that bicycle crunches help (which I used to do a long time ago) but really I think its more body fat than anything.
