I can honestly say I would rather be dead than suffer like this guy. I have ASTRONOMICAL respect for him, but knowing what life is like not having a disability - and even trying to comprehend what it'd be like with one as serious as this, I know I'd rather have just not existed in the first place.

I think it's cruel to bring life into this world that is seriously disadvantaged. How is NOT bringing life into the world worse than WILLINGLY bringing life into this world that will NEVER be on the same level as anyone else no matter how hard they try? You are literally bringing unnecessary struggle/pain when the alternate is to just have that pain never exist at all.

No matter how positively you look at his achievements, he will unfortunately never become anything other than a reminder that YOU don't have a disability. His condition defines and limits him, and it's impossible to register him as an equal because of it. I'm trying to be as non edgy as possible but you can't deny a person with a disability is objectively inferior to a version of themself without it.

The first thing you notice is likely his disability. You might not believe you think less of him because of it, but the fact you actually register it as a disability... which are inherently disadvantageous, means you know he is immediately below you in a sense right off the bat. I am sure his mental fortitude and discipline is FAR better than your average guy, but what is that worth when you can never achieve your true potential because you have been unfairly given a debilitating illness?

But maybe I'm completely wrong, great people have done great things despite having a disability. like stephen hawking for example. However you can't deny he would be a superior version of himself if he didn't have his illness.

Life is not fair. You get what you're given but there is a line and I myself draw it at the point where I'm stopped from being able to do basic things successfully. I wish the guy the best

I share most of your opinion. Since I know life for myself without a major disability, I could not consider it worth continuing if I had one. Mostly because I know I'd be inconveniencing others if I was physically and or mentally dependent of another to take care of me.
