I always wanted to be a cop everything i did from the time i was 16 was to get in. So to get some life experience i joined the army as infantry and after four years and three tours i ended up leaving with bad anxiety and am almost incapable of talking to anyone without feeling panicked. I loved my time while I was in but if I knew how I would end up I never would have signed up.
I'm not a cop, but I guess dealing with fuckwits 24/7 would make you a pretty jaded bloke.

Currently in the hiring process for Military Police for Canadian Forces, passed all my tests now just need to wait for an offer to go to BMQ. If you don't have good social skills, I wouldn't recommend policing. A big part of policing nowadays (in any force, RCMP, OPP etc.) is good communication/social skills and being able to talk to people. There are a ridiculous amount of trades in the CF, and everyone I know who's joined the forces has really enjoyed their career. It's not the best paying gig, but you get government quality pension+benefits. I'd really recommend it personally, doing construction or trades (which are good paying, enjoyable jobs to be fair) is really the only other job where being fit/strong is applicable.

If you just want free training its def a way to go for trades, theyll fucking let you be a dentist if a spots open then just get out and go private. Also during the hearing test the guy put me in the box and didnt start the beeps for almost 6 mins thought i failed miserably, good bants friendo.
