Hammer curls are good for you

>almost all machine exercises

skull crushers
bent over barbell rows
pronated facepulls

>bent over barbell rows
Get lost

Funny one mate

dips

what the fucking fuck

Why are hammer curls retarded and useless?

that bar needs some Viagra.

>literally all machine exercises
FTFY

There is no such thing as a useless exercise.

Box jumps are the biggest meme.

most definitely not my friend

i fucked up my hand and i cant do normal curls anymore. It works just fine and my biceps are growing stronger and growing slowly but surely like before.

That looks pretty fun desu

I bet you have thin biceps bro

this guy at my gym literally hits a big ol tractor tire with a hammer ( i dont know where he got the hammer from ) for a good while, i guess for a cool workout. it looks like memetastic.

No

What about bicep curl machines? I just want to isolate desu

I believe the idea with that is that holding onto the hammer trains your forearms the same way chopping wood does, and that's about the best forearm exercise you can do.

The slight core and lower back work that you get from being bent over are negated by the fact that your back fails at heavier work loads due to a suboptimal position. 10x better off doing seated rows. The only way id do them is if im sticking to lighter weight.

>but who was tendons and ligaments

but why not just do somthing with a hammer in a yard? hardwork of any kind done right should yield muscle growth, but i just can't see that being a totally serious and legit element to weight/strength training. i bet tennis builds forearm, but no one is methododically swinging a weighted rack at a punching bag.

Bench press.
>inferior to weighted dips for upper body strength
>inferior to a multitude of dumbell movements for building chest aesthetics

tire absorbs the impact, the rebound of the rubber helps build wrist and forearm stability.

sledgehammers are hands down THE best way to build arm size. i can't believe more people don't do them. you can get a tire for free and a sledgehammer from walmart for $35

Boxing exercise for endurance

hammer curls are awesome but chinups are enough biceps work for me and I usually do pullups instead so lol fuck targeting bices

>lat pulldown/low row
>leg extension
>cables

ask me how i know you have shit lats, vastus medialis, and upper chest.

Not if you do them properly, quickly, and as part of a larger routine. Helps to have more than one box as well

>10 burpies
>jump up one box, jump down, jump up the one behind it, keep momentum going the whole way through
>1 minute of skipping

>repeat 5 times

Those jumps get really hard really fast.

leg extensions, had a pattelar subluxation and now i cant do leg exercises REEEEEEE

There are tons of better exercises for biceps. Try incline bicep curls.

I just found the weak faggot who doesn't have ab or lower back strength, or knows how to modify exercises.

>What are Yates rows
>What are pendlay rows
>What is training your erectors for aesthetics
The post.

I recently heard that situps don't help with abs muscles. Was this was shit? Having a flatter belly would be nice, what's the right way to do it?

you serious faggot hammer curls get your forearms jacked as fuck one the best

Any Isolation movement, except for hammer curls! Biceps are so fucking important for "transferable" strength. Anyone who think curls are useless has never wrestled. Fuck you OP

I heard this was a type of martial arts training.

barbell curls are better

>>jump up one box, jump down, jump up the one behind it, keep momentum going the whole way through
Good night sweet Achilles tendon

>flatter belly
For this, it's not about building ab muscle, it's about losing fat. Which can be done by building muscle, but where it's built doesn't matter in that case.

For building ab muscle specifically, I'd imagine situps do something, but you're better off just improving your squat and deadlift and other heavy barbell exercises.

I have been moving more and eating less. I am not too much into exercising, but I rock-climb. I will probably start doing planking.
Thank you for the squat suggestion! I will probably do that too.

You shouldn't be doing a lot of situps or crunched they can potentialy be bad for your back. Try hanging leg raises (work your way up to toes touching your feet and lowering slowly) and maybe use an ab wheel. Ab wheel is more challenging than it looks when done correctly a there are variations to make them harder.

Also upright rows are a retarded excercice. There are safer aternatives.

>alternatives
>implying the upright row serves a valid purpose

This thread makes me realize that Veeky Forums is a bunch of DYELs

I know, why would I ever want to work legs? I've already got two of them

Your glutes, hams, and erectors should be stronger than your upper back. Just because you can't maintain actual weight in a bent over position doesn't mean others can't.

if you stay in a swinging motion you'll feel it in your abs. I guess people think it's a fun alternative to train them.
personally I don't like to do them

Lifting in general.

Any cardio.

Fuck off vanityfag, you'll be the first one to go in SHTF.

holy shit are you retarded lmao

Free visit from CPS too.

SHTF?

This?

>hammer curls elongate biceps
Holy shit I was in high school when I first heard of this meme
kys by the way

what about chest press machine? idk for some reason it works my chest better than everything else I've tried :/

>Wed
Dont listen to this fat "powerlifter". If you want abs that really pop, situps and crunches are the best

Machines while still shit are good as an accessory to free weight and cable weight.

Those are all great movements

It's the ego lift of the curl world. Guys go heavier not understanding they are taking work load off the bicep and putting it on the forearm

fpbp

I actually like the hammer strength row machines and press machines. I still use free weights, but I use the machine to get a pump before I leave the gym

>not linking the video

Machines are great for quick isolation excercises while waiting for that faggot who is doing 50 bench presses with an empty bar to clear out

...

>my PF only has smith machines

I've always done them to train bis and forearms simultaneously. Also works your brachialis pretty well.

Any leg exercises, just don't be a lazy faggot and ride a bicycle for transportation instead of sitting on your ass in a car

rock climbing is the best alternative to lifting you can do

Yeah dont jump off the box you moron

Honestly your core is so much more important for wrestling

what is happening

Dumbells are the way to go when it comes to arms

I might be wrong, but the sledgehammer swings are mostly used for working the core and getting it to fire when you swing or move.

It seems to have the same concept as the landmine twist to a lesser degree. You get your core to move to help translate to more power.

Though I could be totally off and it could just only be for arms and endurance and a little bit of abs.

In any case, I will throw in that if anyone wants to punch harder, you should be doing landmine twists.

>lat pulldown/low row
shitter version of pull ups and barbell rows
>leg extension
muh isolation
>cables
muh isolation

the fuck is this

But what if i want to workout forearms is it still bad? What are some other reccomendations?

Ok so if guys go heavier and put the load on the forearm then it is a forearm exercise. If they don't, it's a bicep exercise.

I still haven't heard a good reason they're "useless" or even any more so than regular bicep curls? Do you just not like multitasking ? I'm missing your point if you have one
