Did this man actually do anything wrong? The more I learn about him the more he comes off as a really smart and effective president.

Contemporary Nixon apologists are the worst. They think they have discovered some secret truth about one of the scummiest presidents.

Nixon was a mixed bag until Watergate which forever tarnished his legacy

Who gives a shit about watergate. Everyone did activities like this at the time period, Nixon was the only one who got caught. He should be remembered as the man who brought a wedge between the Soviet Union and Red China, changing the geopolitical situation and course of history forever in favor of America. He would also had won in Vietnam if it wasn't because the country went absolute retard at the time when he was in office with protests everywhere, with the average liberal openly supported traitors and soviet spies like Daniel Ellsberg.

I've asked older people about it. Aside from his paranoia and anything to do with the war, he was a pretty good president.

>wtf why don't these damn kids just shut up and let themselves get drafted into a war which is blatantly not worth its cost in lives and treasure?
>ffs stop having morality, you're getting in the way of muh military-industrial complex

made the vietnam war go on longer than it needed to just for his own political gain, which caused even more americans to die for no reason. Hes says in his tapes he knows the south is going to get curb stomped the moment America leaves.

t. obamadrone who thinks the only bad thing he did was drones

Watergate is literal nothing compared to what Bush or the Clintons did on the regular yet he's treated like the ultimate evil.

>Everyone did activities like this at the time period, Nixon was the only one who got caught
So he was an idiot wh couldnt do what other politicians did all the time
>the man who brought a wedge between the Soviet Union and Red China
You mean khruschev
>He would also had won in Vietnam
Not this meme again

When your argumenrs for a presidents success are a series of excuses you need to do some reevaluation

This kind if idiocy spawns from not knowing anything about the time period and geo politics in general. Put your mind in that situation America was facing for just one second and it's clear that the fear of the domino effect was completely rational. China had just gone communist. Eastern Europe which by Stalin had been promised to be free to elect whoever they want had been turn into communist puppets. The Korean war had happen just a few years earlier and once again showed the expansionist will of the communists. Why the hell would America let nation after nation fall into the communist sphere when it had the power to stop it? Because idiots like you who care about nothing else than your material wealth and free time to jack off to porn?

Clearly it didn't have the power to stop it in Vietnam. Like it or not, the US is a democracy, and if the majority of the people disagree with something then it isn't going to happen. Notice that other such containment actions which didn't require all-in military investment were not protested.

>dude if you don't want to get drafted into an unjust war you're a degenerate
>you should just listen to what your betters tell you and not have your own views

>He should be remembered as the man who brought a wedge between the Soviet Union and Red China
But he didn't do that at all, Russia did it with its' imperialist policies. And the actual opening of relations I would honestly pin on Kissinger.

>Why the hell would America let nation after nation fall into the communist sphere when it had the power to stop it?
Because it's none of our goddamn business?

>Who care about if the whole world turns communists and into our enemies. It won't effect us.

The modern brainlet.

>America should suicide its entire population so that it can play police around the world

Actually, the State Department was initially aware the the Vietnamese communists were primarily an anti-colonial movement (that had approached the U.S. for help after WWII) and not necessarily pro-Soviet, but they were purged for being "pinko cucks" who "lost China" and replaced with hardliners who pushed the Domino Meme. Subsequently, Uncle Ho decided to seek help elsewhere.

>The more I learn about him the more he comes off as a really smart

This is one of those "gazing into abyss" things friend.

Tried to cover up for a few dopes and got busted by a desperate democratic party

>Contemporary Nixon apologists are the worst.
Close, but not quite...

t. leftypol.

McCarthy literally unironically did nothing wrong

thenewamerican.com/culture/history/item/15223-the-real-mccarthy-record

World police meme, used to be so hot decades ago.
Haven't actually heard this after 1991.

>muh freedom
>he a good boi
>pic related
Hmm, seems legit.

mfw #metoos are ten times more effective in purging Hollywood of commies.

Nixon's illegal espionage would have been forgotten if he hadn't sperged out so goddamn hard about it. It's no worse (and in fact quite ameliorable compared to) Obama's illegal espionage in Germany, but there was nowhere near the scale of backlash.

That may be true, but McCarthy did fucking nothing wrong. A good number of the House Unamerican's suspects were later confirmed as communist sympathizers as the attitude towards gommunism became more tolerant in the 70s and 80s.

McCarthy =/= HUAC

>caring about watergate either way
Talk about his actual policies ya pinheads

No, but they worked towards similar ends and have been villified in modern historiography in much the same way.

>The more I learn about him the more he comes off as a really smart and effective president.
His image will likely be significantly rehabilitated once Doo-doo Drumpf becomes the standard-bearer for Presidential scandal and actually gets impeached, removed from office, imprisoned, etc.

>IMBLEAGGH DOLAMMD DRUMPFPH NAAAOOOOAAW

Calm down, I wouldn't want you to have a heart attack before you get to see him behind bars.

Watergate would barely be news today with all this prism bullshit

Most overblown 'scandal' in human history

That being said Nixon's policies were pretty bad

Do retards actually believe this? If anything, the weaponization of the IRS, FBI, and Justice Department as political arms make Watergate look like child's play. Yet with a complicit media, people only see Dumph 2 scoops scandals.

>overthrows allende and pushes chicago school economics in chile
>uses keynesian policies and price controls in the US

???

Chile turned into the richest and safest country in south america, Americas world power start to decay

I don't personally like getting my news exclusively from fringe right-wing outlets, but if that makes you happy, then more power to ya.

IRS scandal was literally settled in federal court, the groups they were targeting won. Federal document from dni.gov "2016_Cert_FISC_Memo_Opin_Order_Apr_2017" displays the blatant FISA abuse and FBI complicity in not only spying on candidate Trump, FBI Director Comey and Attorney General Lynch rigging the Hillary investigation, but also setting the Russia collusion narrative, along with what is alleged from the house and senate intelligence committees.

These are facts, not opinions. It's funny that you're so in the bag that anything not fitting the current narrative is fringe conspiracy theory. You're well trained.

>no counter argument
exactly what I expected. There is literally nothing wrong with going after traitorous spies in your country that are doing the bidding of Stalin. They are lucky they didnt get killed.

He had some interesting thoughts on homosexuality youtube.com/watch?v=cMfVnBmpMm8

Some pretty rational and moderated views

>When it had the power to stop it
It didn't. You lost four hundred thousand American fathers and sons and then shat on their memory by fleeing Vietnam, refusing to provide air support to South Vietnam, and dumping your helicopters into the fucking ocean.

Nixon was retarded for keeping the war going, and especially retarded for sabotaging the peace talks for brownie points. You're a bootlicking piece of shit and you should really think about suicide before the government cucks you any harder

> You're a bootlicking piece of shit and you should really think about suicide before the government cucks you any harder
Imagine thinking that you have to be this to don't wanting to let 12 mi innocent south viets die

>It's ok to spy on American citizens
>until they run for office, you see
>Then we should just let them have their privacy

Also, I would like this document please. I'm very interested in reading it and seeing if the things you are saying are true

>You lost four hundred thousand American fathers and sons

Do you honestly believe that 12 millions of SV would be killed if the Diem regime had collapsed and the VC had taken over?

What about right after the French left? Do you think they'd just march right into South Vietnam and slaughter 12 MILLION people? Commit two holocausts against their own countrymen?

*two hundred thousand American fathers and sons

Google is your friend

No, they killed only 1.75 mi the rest went to reeducation camps

Sure. I mainly am using former federal prosecutor in DC Joe DiGenova. Here's a quick summary rundown when I popped him in google, but he also has a good interview you can see on youtube for the daily caller (also linked to in article)

>globalresearch.ca/brazen-plot-to-exonerate-hillary-clinton-and-frame-trump-unraveling-says-former-fed-prosecutor/5626918

Oh yeah, and funnily enough, it was the NSA director who tipped off the transition team.

The USA's fears don't override a nation's right to self-determination.

Sympathizing with an ideology, doesnt make you a spy or a dissident. Freedom of thought and Speech are basic rights here. You're not allowed to do anything to people for thinking differently than you.

>theres a 9/11 section and a 'US NATO wars" section

>globalresearch
>Centre for research on globalisation

Hey, dumbasses. How about you just go to his interview and the official government document cited. Attack the credibility of the DC former federal prosecutor or the director of national intelligence office. Hell, attack zero hedge or daily caller that actually did the reporting instead of the fucking mirror site you brainlets.

>more dead Amerimutts

From the civil war to iraq it would seem the only thing americans are good at are killing other americans. God bless.
