Stuck at 25 sit ups

Stuck at 25 sit ups

Am I doing something wrong? I'm not in great shape but I'm by no means fat.

I was blown up in Afghanistan not too long ago and broke both my legs.

I gained 40 lbs and lost it right after rehab.

I'm about 220 lbs at 6 ft in height.
Before the explosion and long 6 month absence of working out I dropped from 75 sit ups max to 25 sit ups

My push ups and run are basically the same but it seems I get tired so fast with sit ups.

Any advice to get it back up? I'm really worried because sit ups are a part of the army physical and I have one in 12 days

What country?

Does your army (and I'm assuming army) not have a physio/rehabilitation program?

What was damaged? If it was your upper legs that would explain it.

Lower legs.

Us and they do offer these rehab programs.

As a matter of fact the PT test for me will be optional since I'm still technically recuperating, having never failed one in my life I just don't want to fail it.

The injury on both legs was very near the joint between the foot and leg but it was a clear break without damaging any joints

Idk man I'm just so depressed I can't workout properly since it's the only thing I have in my life

You got blown up and aren't getting out? Obviously you didn't lose sny limbs if thats the case but what about muscle damage? If your core muscles are damaged thats the most obvious answer why. Just take your disability and run though man, military doesn't care if you're broken. They'll use and abuse you.

US army btw

They already offered me 100%

But I know I'll blow my brains out if I retire at 24

>"I was in the navy for years, never tasted anything that fishy"

What does 100% mean and why wouldn't you want to retire?

Boi, retire from the military and do something else. You're literally the biggest dumbass on earth if you dont. Take the opportunity to use the system or they'll use you the fuck up. Like you said, only 24. You literally have all the options in the world. Don't know how long you've been in but I'm a SSgt in the Marines after 7 years and still wouldn't stay in if I had the chance for 100% disability.

It means he gets 100% of his current pay for the rest of his life tax free due to medical disability.

Means they give you about 4k a month forever and say "thanks and bye"

The army takes care of you but if 4k a month is all I'll ever be then to me it's pretty depressing.

I wouldn't be able to take a full time job as a 100% disable vet

Plus I've know the guys in my unit since I was 17, I'm the last in my family and there is no one waiting for me on the outside

Thank you for your sacrifice stupid goyim. The state of Israel thanks you

Hey man. I know ok

Doesn't mean I still don't want to serve my country

I'm not naive, I know the Jew well

They fucking better

Bro, take the money and run. No need to waste your time in an office job either. Do something meaningful with your time, write, hit the road, buy some land to live on, whatever floats your boat. 4k a month forever doesn't mean you have to sit on your ass, it's a tremendous opportunity to pursue your wildest ambitions.

Well that's why I left. Getting shot at and blown up for 4k a month is ridiculous, you make more picking up garbage and people make the same amount if they are the same rank 100000km from any front line.

I was an officer and in training I broke down my daily pay rate and figured I was making $5 an hour. For being up pretty much all week, sleeping outside, being completely gassed, carrying 70lbs of shit while up to my knees in swamp and being eaten alive by mosquitoes.... I was making less than minimum wage.

That's not directed at you (OP), just as a caution to anyone thinking of joining a combat trade.

4k a month is about 48k a year. If you spend 1-2 years living extremely cheaply, you can throw many thousands into stock markets and bump your income up to about 70k yearly by the time you hit retirement age.

Or go to mexico/asia where you'll be living like you make 100k+ a year off that 48k

So you have the option of failing the physical and starting a whole new life

Ok, so for the actual advice you were asking for and not my opinion - do the sit-ups slowly.

Instead of banging them out quickly while training, raise yourself slowly and lower yourself slowly. Then try again in a couple of days and see if it's become easier to do situps

Are you from USA? In Mexico our soldiers are treated with the utmost respect by our government. They earn three times that, but live just how you described it - as if they earned 100k. Man, I get why a country whos main economy is war would pay their soldiers poorly, however, that looks like a spit on your face for risking your life so that men in suits can increase their income. It's now obvious why pre-college education in USA is so lacking: figuring your own life is worth more than money is surely not something le happy merchant would want.

Don't do sit ups.
Do other abs exercises, like L-sits or leg raises.
That way you will get better at sit ups without doing sit ups.
I hope you get it, my man.

>situps

you mean lying lumbar spine rounds? those aren't an exercise anymore

You have the mindset of a champion, don't settle for mediocre. If you feel you can be better than 4k a month, strive for it.

Stay safe man

Thanks man. This really means a lot. Even if it's on the internet.

jesus christ man do you have a deathwish? VA will pay for you to go back to school so you can find something else meaningful to do with your life. go study to be a paramedic or a firefighter or learn a trade or go be a forest ranger or something. you have a way out. TAKE IT

Jesus fuck man
I'm only a Specialist but fuck
Take that 100% and go travel or something, the bullshit of the Army now isn't worth it

Tfw Infantryman right now and calculated after tax during an 8 hour work day I make less than 2.50 an hour

Well first to help you I will say I do not see much hope in you making the minimum in sit-ups if all you can muster is 25 of them, however we all know you will be given more chances so just use this time to work on a variety of ab exercises like crunches, leg raises, flutter kicks, bicycle crunches, etc. These should help you get a more complete ab workout and brake a plateau.

On the other hand, my ETS date draws closer and I am feeling more excited than I ever have in my life. Not even moving back home, going to another state to go to school.

You might also consider serving in another way, the FBI has many administrative jobs you could look into. Hell even actual cool guy stuff like forensics.

What did you get on your ASVAB? Planning to join army but dont want to be infantry, however not sure how good my scores are

Thank you for your service user amd I'm sorry to hear about your leg.

I would say this will become much easier as you lose more weight. You should try to get down under 200. Pushups will become much more doable with less of your body fighting against you.

Probably shit they told you in BCT, but just fall down. Most people spend their core muscles slowly moving down after their elbows touch their knees. Once your knees touch you elbows and you are at a 90 degree drop and momentum will do the rest of the job. Pt tests are easy. Sit ups are the hardest part for me even though I'm skinny and I've maxed it at 75ish situps.
