Help me, lads
I'm on my second cycle of C6W with a 100 kg bench. Doing 3x int med + candito accessories since normal C6W did not improve my bench.
After 2 weeks on nuckols, still stuck on 80 kg x8 as AMAP set. So haven't gained any strength.
Is it normal to progress this slowly on bench, even on 3x int med?

Sats:
185 cm
85 kg
lifts (1rm)
squat: 145 kg
Deadlift: 175 kg
Bench: 100 kg

Other upper body lifts:
db row: 34 kg x10
db ohp: 22 kg x10
chin ups: bw x12

I don't think eating is the issue, since squat and deadlift have each progressed 30 kg so far.
Any insight or advice on how to improve my bench? All advice welcome.

I'm just memeing, only Basic I've ever been to was fine. Whereabout are you?

- Pause all your reps
- Split your DB press sets from 4x10 to 2x10 incline, 2x10 flat
- Get your technique right, I bet your technique is still a work in progress, get it right.
- It takes time to add to your BP. Is a very slow progression so be patient. even 5 kg per month is great
- Eat, sleep, repeat
- Play around with grip width. The grip you are using may not be your actual strongest.
- Try doing some 2count pause bench since it really force you to be tight and strong off the chest

I'm currently not doing any db bench presses. I do the candito upper body work.

I was thinking of pausing all my reps as well, will do this from now on.

Depends on how tall you are. Pinkie at rings is usually a close grip for powerlifting. I would recommend moving it out slowly.
Pausing all the reps is the best advice since touch and go reps can get ugly and you are not always in control, sometimes you may even bounce it off your chest without knowing it. Controlling the bar is the most important aspect.

Also try to do other chest exercises since only doing the competition bench may not be enough to build well rounded chest strength or muscle. If you have a small chest but strong shoulders/big shoulders, small chest, you are likely doing something very wrong.

Bulk while doing a lot of volume on the competition lifts, preferably some in the 5-8 rep range, and complement with accessories that target technique or strength weaknesses.

Lads im just coming off a deload and my bench and squat were down. Is it possible I deloaded too agressively? Or is it more likely that it was just a shit day/im sick/i under ate last week. Now that Im typing it out it seems like the latter

Yes I know that. Only doing competition grip bench even if it's medium, wide or narrow, is usually not sufficient to bring up a lagging chest. He needs to build pressing strength in every grip possible and use the strongest grip. Be it wide, narrow or medium. I just recommended to move the grip out a little bit since all the best benchers usually have wider grip than him.

Or he could just do variations at a narrower grip and while doing his main work with competition grip, considering that the time it would take to bring his grip out from shoulder width to comp grip would almost certainly be much longer than a peaking cycle.

In regard to 3x int med, I personally preferred db pec flyes and LTEs, so they wouldn't interfere as much with recovery between sessions (especially between days 2 and 3), but if you feel you need it, 3-5 sets @8-9 on days 1 and 3 should be fine, with something less stressful on day 2 to not impact the amrap. I personally never bothered looking at the accessories on C6W for bench or their layout, so I can't answer that question.
