The reason more and more people have problems with wheat is how it's farmed. They drench it in Roundup (herbicide) just before harvest in a process called 'dessicating', which (somehow; this escapes me) increases the crop yield (makes it easier to harvest, maybe?). The glyphosate residue remains in the wheat all the way through the process of making it into flour and baking it into food. That residue gets in your body and fucks with cellular metabolism, making you fat, and also making you sick in various ways.

Same goes for beans, peas, corn, and oats. All treated with Roundup.

Some people have a greater tolerance for glyphosate. Some don't. Some have health problems (like obesity) that they can't figure out because you have to do special testing to determine if someone has glyphosate in their body. Monsanto specifically covers all this up because it would cost them billions in revenue if glyphosate was outlawed in the U.S..

Note that glyphosate and Roundup are banned in the EU; wonder why???
