Water fasting opinions?

Hey guys i am just average fat guy that used to do all kind of sports since little youngling so i have pretty good muscle base but all covered in fat and i weight currently 124 kgs

I want to try water fasting for week+ (will see how long i can hold) And everything i read about it on net goes one way or another like its completely great and also its completely bad and you will die BUT most of the ppl that did it are completely happy with results nothing bad.

So i just want some more opinions on this.

don't start with a week. do alternate day fasting for a while. you'll get most of the benefits of fasting and it's easier to stick to.

yeah. it's a nice middle ground between 16/8 and 3+ day fasts.

if your fat loss stalls, then you can simply make your fasting periods longer.

I completely stopped drinking anything else than clean water month ago (was really big step for me coz before i drank only sweetened shit) Now i almost cant drink the sweet stuff coz it just tastes like shit :D For food i try to git gud and not eat fast foods and shit, but i am no tryharder, i just try to minimize fried stuff and similar completely unhealthy stuff

Like this step i want to change my life, because since 17 cca i was fat and i was telling to myself that i will get fit and shit and i am 21 now and nothing, at least i stopped with the drinks :D

on your fasting days, if you feel lightheaded or get cramps, put some salt on your tongue and suck it.

lastly, on your eating days, don't limit your food intake. eat until you're full.

OP, don't do this pussy shit. at the very least start with 23/1. I did a 4 day fast a week or two ago, gonna do one every month. kept the weight off too

definitely salt. i don't think vitamins are necessary.

put it on your tongue and suck on it. it gets into your system faster this way.

First start keto for 2weeks+ because if you are in ketosis and ketoadapted it's far easier to fast a view days to a week than just begin with.

With the salt, like isnt the fasting all about doing only water? So if i take salt (on longer fasting periods than the ADF) doesnt it just "cancel" the effect?

Funny thing is my friend that "studies" human body, exercises and food since he was 14 and is ripped af told me fasting is gud if done properly and for certain ppl, on the other hand there are nutrition specialists like my GF that told me its completely unhealthy, problem is, he has years of experience and she heard it in school...

That's not exactly what I meant. I would start taking electrolytes on 2nd day already, I started on the night of first day fasting.

Sodium and potassium are minerals also so you're pissing out that electrolyte pill too. Except not, because absorption of micronutrients doesn't go to zero when it's not accompanied by whole food. Of course, you're not gonna get scurvy from merely a week or two of fasting but taking in zero micronutrients doesn't sound like a good idea.

I had a really depressing day yesterday. I don't even know why. Just felt really down all day. Tried to go on a run at night but felt terrible, like just breaking down and crying. Ended up coming home after 35min and eating a bunch of peanut butter and milk.

Still feeling down and depressed today / right now. Feel bad that I ate that many calories. I didn't even track it but it had to have been several thousand. For a solid 5min I contemplated jamming my finger down my throat and trying to vomit it all back up. I didn't end up doing it, but damn did I want to. I still kinda regret not doing it.

Since September I've gone from 280 -> 176 (6'1 male). I decided to try starting a fast today. I don't know how long. I at least need to skip lunch to make up for what I did last night. And I'll just go from there. 24hrs, 48hrs, a week, I don't know.

I'm just depressed. Weight/fat loss has slowed to a crawl. I have loose skin belly and loose skin man tits. I look disgusting.

I have no job, no friends, living in my parents house while they are away for the summer. I haven't interacted with another human being in person in weeks. I'm constantly losing in the moba I play.

Sometimes I think why am I even bothering. Should I just kill myself? Honest to god, why keep living? I don't really think things are ever going to be different / better.
