Cutting is fucked, in that you can be a fatass and lose 50lbs and look marginally different, but the leaner you get, especially once near single-digits, every few pounds make a dramatic difference in your appearance.

Overall I feel like there's not a lot of size difference, even though my lifts have increased (though I'm still very weak)

It's hard to say from pose like that. I'm in a similar situation as you, and when I'm just standing there I look pretty much identical to how I was last year. However, when I take different poses, I almost look ripped.

Try this: get in front of the mirror, stand straight, and start scratching your head vigorously. See how you look then. When I noticed that, I was amazed.
