What are some stupid things you did or thought when you first started lifting or dieting?

> not track calories

> not retract shoulders on bench

> pretty much do all 3 of the big lifts wrong until I was too sore to lift and had to see a PT

> do a brosplit

> wear basketball shorts to the gym

Wasting money on pre-workouts laden with mystery ingredients when all I needed were caffeine pills with creatine and beta-alanine.

Water food sleep and consistency

>didn't do DB bench
>cut too much

not eating large

>google beginner workout
>did the first one i saw for about 6 months
>brosplit
well fuck

i've wasted more time from the jump researching and coming up with angles for me to start at instead of just exercising. i think this delayed me but at least i wasn't fucking around with weights and injuring myself at those times.

also recess was bullshit. it and gym classes should be before lunch for every student. also i didn't learn shit from any staple health class.

They were made for athletic stuff. Also, whatever even constitutes "basketball shorts" vs. other kinds of athletic shorts is nebulous.
