Pre workout meal

Hi Veeky Forums,

I work 9-5 and hit the gym after work, I want to find a food that's good to give me that energy boost after a workday.

Is pasta a good choice? And if so, how long before the training do I have to eat it ?

Drink a pint or two of milk, puts you that much closer to the gallon you need to have drank before midnight.

Pasta doesn't exactly give you a boost as much aa it give you sustainability instead.

I just chug the gallon first thing when I wake up. It helps wake me up and get the required milk out of the way.

I'd choose rice over pasta but it's fine. It will fill you up for sure.

How to make yourself to love rice? I fucking hate it, partly because it usually ends up getting into my nose while I eat it. Sometimes I feel like it's even getting up through my ear canals.

How did no one say oats yet?
It's obviously oats, a lot better than pasta.
Gives you energy throughout your entire workout.

I really cba having oats soak at work.

Ay bruh. I work 9-17.30 almost everyday and hit the gym straight after work and i dont eat any pre workout meals. At 1 i eat rice vieggies and chicken then at 4 i eat like some fruit or just drink a can of some rio rivo tropical. I still have massive energy for workouts

Not really. Here in the US skim milk has 12g of sugar per 250mL, or per 8 FL Oz

Rice tastes like water, pasta > rice any day of the week

The best types of foods immediately before a workout are simple sugars that your body can immediately break down and use for energy. Fruits, peanut butter, gummy bears, or sweet potato are prime for this.
