I'm interested in how fat the people in /fat/ are. How tall are you and how much do you weight?

OP here, 5'9 and 176 as of this morning. started at 225 lbs.

This is probs a stupid question, but how do I know how many calories I am burning per day?

I am dieting (1200-1500 cals. per day) but I do no exercise at the moment (bogged down with uni), how do I know that my body is burning these calories off?

use a TDEE calculator with lowest activity. this is your "keep me alive" body energy so you can be sure you will burn at least that much.

I had a piece of bread with my soup last night. It was the first time in a month I had some. It was delicious but them carbs and sugars, father wojak...

I drank a whole 2 liter of diet coke last night, way too late and I think it fucked with my weigh in because the scale says I gained a lb this morning after only eating 1800 calories yesterday.

I know that diet soda has zero calories, but I still feel like I've been using it as a crutch. I've been using it to satisfy my sweet tooth/and give caffeine and I need to stop satisfying that urge. That's why I'm swearing off of diet soda starting today. I typically drink 3 or 4 20 oz bottles of diet soda a day at work and starting today it's going to be zero.

I ate about a pound of pulled pork loin last night. Managed to remain under 1400 calories, but I was awoken this morning by the single worst case of explosive diarrhea I've ever experienced.

In another thread here someone linked to a study showing an 800 calorie diet for 9 weeks essentially eliminated insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes patients.

Has anyone tried very low calorie diets here? Do you have any advice or recommendations? My doctor is skeptical, he said I could try 1,200 but he felt 800 was too low.

I've lost 20 pounds, I don't need this to lose weight. But as a treatment for diabetes, I'm interested.

I did not have any negative side effects other than general weakness and being pissed off all the time, but the pissed off part probably wasn't due to the diet.

How do you get over your addiction of food? I love food so much. Food doesn't hate you or leave. Food never thinks ill of you. I can't stop my love of food and it is fucking up my life. I gained almost 100 in 8 years.

as long as you kept your net carb intake at around 20g then you're golden brah, also I'd maybe slow down on the butter since you said it was swimming. But that's the joy of keto just eating delicious things and still losing weight

Because you are, you really should stop cooking with butter. I use either coco butter or olive/sunflower oil and it makes a big diffrence. Also don't forget to add the oil you cook in to your calories in your app.

I have a serious problem. I've been eating at a deficit since the end of January and I've lost about 30lbs. My goal is to lose five to fifteen more. I lift and do 30 minutes of cardio three times a week. I loathe skipping workouts. Before I buckled down and started keeping track of what I eat I never, ever binge ate. I mean, I could put away twice my TDEE no problem but I never stuffed myself to the point of physical pain like I've recently started doing. The first time, I went to a party at a friend's and got drunk and ate a fuckton of chips, dip, fruit salad, etc then I waddled home and went right back to eating at a deficit. Then it happened again a few weeks later: got drunk, ate an entire bag of chips plus a jar of salsa. I ended up getting sick and vomiting it up the next morning. I'm home from college now and don't get drunk but I still binge eat. I skipped breakfast and lunch with plans to go to a birthday party (there was no alcohol). When I got there I must have eaten an entire chicken's worth of wings, a cup of artichoke dip, so many chips and desserts... I left early because sitting and standing were so incredibly uncomfortable from my stomach being distended I had to go home and lay down. I feel like I'm losing control of my life and my ability to eat "normally." I try to keep my calories at or below maintenance every day but of course eating to the point of physical illness is the opposite of healthy. Should I see a psychiatrist? Does anyone know of any books or websites that address my problem without just saying lmao eat what you want?
