Home gym setups

Thinking about canceling my gym membership and setting up my own equipment, anybody have any tips?

post your home gyms.

im toying with the idea, but doing so is also embracing agoraphobia and i gotta fight it

Need to build a platform soon.

Upfront investment can be kind of pricey, just know to stay away from the shit you can buy on Amazon.

How much did you spent for the power rack and the sit user? Thinking about buying some decent equipment sometime this year or the next.

1500 for everything besides dumbell shit. I had that

Are you scared about getting pinned under the weights or something? It's happened to me before just don't put clips and try to slide them off to one side or get something with safeties so if you can't push it off or it falls back down it'll catch it. I'd probably would've crushed my ribs and head if I didn't have safeties.

dont invest in cheap shit go full rogue setup, its expensive but so worth it

also obviously buy the racks with spotter bars so you dont become another idiot who dies in their home gym

mirin, simple yet elegant. how much did the bumper plates cost you?

Checked

if you have enough room there is no reason not to have a home gym. All you need is a bench with safeties (or powerrack if you're roof is big enough) and a barbell and plates. then add stuff as you go. Also don't pay tons of money for a dumbbell set that includes shit like 10's and 15's. They have adjustable ones that end up being way cheaper and they don't need to be those gay bowflex ones.

Is that the Rep Fitness bench? How you like it?

>gatorade
>all that sugar
Never gonna make it

>Got welding buddies to put together a tall, strong pull up bar
>Gymnast rings
>Dip belt

Feels fucking good lads. Any one who is sick of lifting should try this

>Upper body
>Weighted chins and dips+Ring variations
>Handstand pushups
>Ring curls, triceps extensions, (Reverse) flies
>Rows and push ups
>Skill work-Levers, planche etc
>Band face pulls

All I do for legs is horse stance, pistols, sprints and cycling. TRy this hit out my dudes.

If training at home is better than training in an actual gym, then why nobody does it?

I'm trying to get a minimal setup going.

What should i have to start out?

I was debating with myself between a power rack or what has in this setup but i am not sure if i will be able to do squats safely.

Also is it safe to lift on carpet?

he wasn't talking about this, he was talking about not turning in a fully autismal individual scared about being in public/outside
maybe you're deep down in your own autism already but at least try to read the post you're quoting

What program are you doing?

Look at what equipment you use in the gym, and buy it.

Some stuff can be bought second hand, but I'd be careful with stuff like power racks/cages if you're already lifting serious weight. I mean, the chances of failure are low, but if someone has treated their equipment like shit you don't know if it's got stress fractures. Unlikely, but do you want to take that risk if you fail a 350lb bench press?

Other than that, always buy second hand. Cheap as fuck, and given it's literally just lumps of metal, you can't really go wrong.

upfront costs
space required

with the cost of a home gym I could afford decades @ my 20 bucks gym (which has literally everything I need), without having to clean or repair anything, without worrying about neighbours, without worrying about permanently allocating space to a gym in my house
it may make sense if you live in Desertville or if there are more people in your family/circuit of friends who are willing to use the equipment, or again if seeing other humans around you hurts your feelings

Great idea, OP. This way you'll never have to leave your parents' basement and have to be around vaginas again.

>Being so poor that you can't afford a gym membership
>Being so socially awkward/retarded that you don't instinctively prefer a gym environment with other people

Homegym is master race. I control the environment. Music, can work out naked or shirtless, only my sweat on equipment, work out whenever I want, no wait for equipment, can have friends over for a lift sesh or a dick swinging contest. Man it must suck to be poor and go to gym and smell sand nigger piss

Your parents will definitely fuck on your equipment. Enjoying working out on your dads sweaty cum stains.

>living with your parents

Not everyone is underaged here you cuck. My son is 15 years too early to start fucking on it too.

i did that, never looked back

as in i don't work out anymore

Depends on the carpet. How squishy is it? As long as it doesn't cause too much imbalanced footing, I'd say it's find.

Sorta squishy. Its like carpet comfortable for your feet, barefoot.

>parents
I'm a grown ass 34 year old man who owns his own home. If my old ass father wants to bang my dried up old mom in my power cage i'll help him adjust the safties.

>who owns
[X] Doubt
the bank owns it
>grown ass
such an adult

The bank used to own it for 12 years until i payed it off.
[X] Go fuck yourself sonny

>says ass, therefore not an adult
[X] sorry, i meant bum

Power rack with safety pins, maximum capacity 320 kg: 300 €
Oly Bar, 20 kg, standard: 190 €
Reclinable Bench: 80 €
9 squared meters of interlocking foam mat: 90 €
plates, 160 kg total: 260 €

920 € and I've not even considered dumbbells, not even for a second
all new, cheapest offers comparing non-bullshit ebay & amazon offers

yeah "if you buy used you'll save" - I could direct my time and efforts in catching probably damaged equipment that as been probably used in gay sandnigger porn or I could direct it somewhere else

...or, I could pay ~25 € / mo and use any facilities of a gym chain all across Yurop

>for 12 years until i payed it off
ahahaha fuck off literal kid

Sometimes I forget that /fit is all literal kids. Just look at almost every thread.
>How do I get big if my allowance is small?
>24 yo virgin here will getting big save me
>mom won't let me use the stove. How do I cook chicken

Those of us who can pay 2 grand+ for a homegym also have a house to put it in. I actually swim in my inground pool after on those hot summer days like today. It's ok stay jelly

I just got myself a cheap squat rack, some mats, a barbell and two of these adjustable dumbbells you can put amy weight on. No space for a bench yet, doing dumbbell floor press until I can afford moving into a bigger flat. It's not pretty, but it works.

You can get foldaway FID benches, if that'd help. More expensive for less weight capacity, though.

t. literal kid

Dope

pic related plus a barbell set, dumbbell set, punch bag, stationary bike, and treadmill

you guys are peasants

I have a ratchet home gym back at my parents. Love being able to lift shirtless and blast my own music as loud as I want

That machine has got to be at least 5k

>marcy diamond elite smith machine
>smith machine
opinion discarded

>5k
$907.13 & FREE Shipping, according to amazon. too much for that shit, I'd have to be paid to host a smith machine in my house.

>having a pool
Fuuuuuck that. I rented a house with a pool for a year after we relocated here and were house shopping. Pools are just money pits, and take far more maintenance than I want. Never again. When I bought this place the only two things on my "no way" list was a pool and an HOA.

>too much work
Confirmed lazy. Literally pour a gallon of chlorine in every two days and sweep it once a week. Dump and regenerate filter 3 times a year. Check other chemical levels every couple weeks. That is it and up until my pool cleaning robot died my only maintenance was to add chlorine. It's no way because you prob didn't know how to maintain it. First year was rough but once you get it down its a breeze.
