Beef heart

I just found out that a local store sells beef heart for 1€ per kilo. Since I am broke as fuck, this seems like a deal of a lifetime. But is it healthy enought or/and does it help with gains? Some information I found from a few sites say that 100g of beef heart has 24.4g of protein.

its healthy. buy lamb heart if you can. tastes much better.

Look up 'anticucho'. Peruvian recipe for beef heart slivers. Delicious

Organ meats in general are great nutrition wise. But I've never had beef heart before, I imagine it's quite tough so you'll need to cook it awhile to get soft.
Or just marinate it for awhile to make it tender.

t. chink

Beef heart is perfect for stews, my dude.

Haha XD

the heart is a muscle, there shouldn't be much differences to eating a steak.
i would say get some good recipes and do it.
atleast it will not hurt you so try it.

Heart , kidney & liver are godsend

Cheap , very lean , contain way more micro than usual cut .

OP here, just got done with frying and a bit of stewing. Took me about 20 minutes to prepare. Doesn't feel that tough to chew tho. Reminds me of liver.

Chinks would eat rotten eggs or scorpion on a stick. Heart isn't that chink tier.

Bee fart lol.

...

But it is, its has a distinct taste that many people don't like

It's not peruvian

Couldn't fine anything in non-retard units? What the fuck is an ounce?

Hm, I'll keep that in mind if I ever get any
The peruvian recipe mentioned in the thread looks interesting.

28.4 grams apparently

>he has access to the World Wide Web and he still can't figure out how to convert ounces to grams

"A large bite" or a "small fistful" approximately.
Doesn't organ meat have too many heavy metals or something?

Isn't there any risks with it? Like... idk, too much iron or something like that?
Think tuna, which CAN give you mercury poisoning

Yes, of course.
But, it's the same deal as with tuna, buy meat from healthy animals that weren't in contact with absurd quantities of heavy metals and you'll be fine.
It's harder with tuna, we've fucked up their habitat, just check were your meat comes from.
Ofc, that kills the economic factor, you end up avoiding the cheap organ meat.

MY SMILE IS STUCK

also it is fucking delicious.
i just ate hearts for lunch.

I eat duck hearts regurlaly there are many where I live.

I buy a lot of bone marrow it's god tier food as well. Giblets are cheap too.

I remember eating kidneys or liver once. Tasted like piss. Does heart taste like this?

Dude eating organs is waaaay better than eating muscle meat

the heart is pure muscle plus it has more nutrients than muscle meat. Only downside is muscle meat tastes better

>Doesn't organ meat have too many heavy metals or something?
Why would there be heavy metals in an animals organ

Idiot

>An organ that filters piss tastes like piss

Really makes you think

Is this bait?

>not eating the hearts of animals to steal their gains

It's like you don't even want to make it.

kek

and what is so idiotic about my post

I bought chicken heart and liver the other day. It was pretty cheap, the hearts were alright but I didnt't like the liver's taste.

...

Beef heart is awesome OP. Just slice it in big circular pieces and cook it like a steak. It cooks pretty quickly so don't leave it on the burner/grill too long. Stews werk gr8 too.

>skips eating dog food and goes right to the source
GENIUS. You're cutting out all the extra shit and know that the piece isn't diseased or rejected.

it's honestly inedible withoutfresh hot white rice, a sauce made of 1 hardboiled egg smashed and mixed with 1/4 cup of Vietnamese fish sauce

I love beef hearts but this is the only way I know how to eat it. Otherwise I would boil it with a little salt for my cat

Supplement companies hate him!

either cook it very quickly like a stir fry or cook it long in a stew

He probably isn't accustomed to referring to trace minerals as "heavy metals"

I don't think animals listen to music usually
