You say that as if people following proper bodybuilding programs aren't doing compound movements. Chances are they are doing it with much better form and with more weight than the majority of crossfitters.

The most successful crosssfitters are :
1.Genetic elite (who would have better results than most no matter what style of weightlifting they did)
2. Probably roiding. Any proffesional sporting competition where money is involved people will be using PEDs. Just cause there's drug testing means nothing those are worked around just like anything else.
3. Some of these guys don't even Crossfit to train for Crossfit comps. Rich Fronning the Crossfit posterboy trained more a job to body building and powerlifting.

You're delusional if you think all the top crossfitters do is bodybuild and then show up to these comps and do things like hand stand walks or any of the other random skill events on top of doing them in a conditioning aspect

I think more of the point is that none/few of the people who compete in these competitions ACTUALLY do the group crossfit that we are all so familiar with.
