What does Veeky Forums consider the absolute best isolation for back?

elbow pulls down and out.

Deathlifts.

T-bar row is overall the best.

rack pulls above the knee

T bar w/rope

weighted wide grip pullups

this

i like SLDL

For traps that makes sense, but it doesn't rack pull mostly work hips?

weighted pull ups for reps for a lot of sets.

or

heavy overhead squats

face pulls or pull overs. after that, probably seal rows

pro-tip: your back is not a single muscle.

Really the only isolations for back muscles aside from rotator cuff ones are shrugs (upper traps), bent over flyes (posterior delts), and straight arm pulldowns (lats).

Personally I like straight arm pulldowns

Heavy bent over rows with a bit of added momentum

Seconding bent over barbell rows. On paper they're inefficient/inferior to dumbbell or other row variations but I feel like I'm killing back (in a good way) when I do these.

In the end it's all about the mind muscle connection.

PRP.

Pendlay rows, rack pulls, and pullups

cheat rows

Heavy dumbbell rows

>isolation
Just no.

Pull-ups (varied grips and weighted, if ur strong enough), deadlift, rack pulls.

This is all you need.

Rack pulls are fucking shit

just do only deadlifts and literally no other back exercises at all

Cheat answer: Single arm DB Row.
all dem angle and grip variations. even hitting QL's if its not supported

In no way are dumbbell rows more efficient than bent over barbell rows.

oh hey it's ...
