The British Empire was the most powerful empire at the time of the American revolution

>The British Empire was the most powerful empire at the time of the American revolution.

Do Amerigoblins actually believe this? The British navy wasn't even as good as the French fleet. The Brits were at best 2nd most powerful European country.

>the British Navvy wasn't even as good as the French fleet
The British destroyed the French fleet in the Seven Years War

>2nd most powerful European
You are being to nice

>France
>Russia
>Spain
>AH/Ottomans
>Prussia
>British

>Russia

As much as Americans like to sperg out about their guns and their military, they don't actually know a lot about either.

It was the most powerful naval power.

I disagree on guns

Its fleet was, but the land-army was a joke.

Your average American uses retarded vague terms like "assault weapons" or only know about hunting weapons.

you're just describing the left and fudds

the british fleet shited himself when the French and Spaniard fleets arrived, not counting the Dutch too

>You will never overthrow the might of the British Empire so do not try! Lay down your arms and accept our rule.
Lolno, more like
>You're subjects of the king, holy shit, stop this rebellion.!
That was what British Loyalists were yelling.

In addition why the fuck would the Loyalists be anti-gun? They were the first line of defense in the colonies and came from the same colonial militias as the cunts who rebelled.

Yeah but who had the run of the world's ocean's by then? Sure wasnt the Spics, the Frogs, nor the Dutch.

>by then?
you mean by 70 years later

Nah. By then. They were already swamping cunts out in India.

>t. Never heard of the Seven Years War

Why did they make the statue look so miserable?

Americans never did any effort in making a realist image of their enemies, just see how Russians are on movies.

Try getting ousted from your rightful home by a chimpout. See how'd you feel.

It didn't really enjoy naval superiority during the Revolutionary War though, they wiped out the tiny American navy easily but France, Spain, and the Netherlands all aided the Americans.

In terms of power-projection, it was the most powerful Empire at the time.

The Prussians, or maybe Austrians if they sucked enough cocks in the HRE, could field a better army, but at the time Spain was falling to pieces under the Bourbon Kings that managed to outretard the Habsburgs, France was going nuclear with debt and internal issues, and Russia was a logistical nightmare.

The Ottoman Empire might be a contender, but they had just been fighting Persia and were about to start declining hard.

>18th Century
>Austria-Hungary
Retard detected.

They lost an entire 1 battle and 1 ship in it, and then went on to kick the combined fleet's butts. The Battle of the Saintes didn't seem to be suffering all that much from their defeat at Chesapeake bay, and hell, they captured more French first rates than they lost in the entire war there.

/thread

>AH exists in 18th century
>Ottomans are European
You're a special kind of fucktard

>AH exists in 18th century
it existed in all but name, or i have to remember you of the mighty royal family of the late Austrian kingdom crying in the floor of the Hungarian parliament to allow the mobilization of troops

>it existed in all but name
No, it didn't. Austria and Hungary were different political entities at this time, it wasn't Austria-Hungary or even the Austrian Empire; it was Austria, Bohemia, Hungary, and the other Habsburg holdings.

When did people who don't know any history start posting in Veeky Forums? There should be a captcha like history quiz before people can post on here imo.

Halloween 2015.

Yeah, retards look at a map of the British Empire in 1914 and think it was like that in 1776

In reality, the British "Empire" in 1176 outside of the 13 colonies was what is in orange on that map

An European war in which Prussia held alone against France, Spain, Austria and Russia

Unless you're talking about that one side theater in which it took the Brits an entire decade to finally defeat a French force they outnumbered 4 to 1 in America while France was focused on Europe

Going by the Seven Years War, Prussia was the stronkest army and Britain the shittiest

>not as powerful as France
>Spain + France + Netherlands together can't beat them while they're tied down with the majority of their forces in North America fighting colonials
>even trying to attack Britain in a coalition literally bankrupts France and results in the Dutch losing territory
>meanwhile Britain comes out fine except for that rebellion succeeding

Ottomans literally were European. The capital and all the wealthiest lands were in Europe as was the bulk of its population. Anatolia itself was full of people genetically and culturally very close to southeastern Europeans (closer to them than the former are to Germans anyway) including entire territories of literal Greeks. And nearly every Emperor and Grand Vizier was southeastern European by blood.

Cool story faggot. By your logic British empire was Indian

India was not the wealthiest per capita part of the British Empire and the King of the Empire + Prime Minister wasn't Indian.

>The British navy wasn't even as good as the French fleet.

Holy damn, you need to destroy your seeds so you can reproduce. Stick to trap

It was the most powerful empire at that time though.
The reason why america was able to defeat them was because britain had so much on their plate, e.g colonising australia.

>comparing an empire to some guy in college

that and the guy on the left has the right idea to stab you whereas the guy on the right won't

Britain had a better navy and was just fresh off of the 7 years war.

France though with a better army was reeling from debt and loss of territory

>Britain lost the American Revolution because of Australia

Was contributing factor yes.
