Veeky Forums is actually low key a pretty intelligent board. There's some knowledgeable people that come here.

Same. I'll read a book if I'm looking for academic content. You can't have serious debate over any forum because it requires typing pages worth of typing to express well structured arguments. I come here for dumb posts and occasional inspiration for reading material because I enjoy the honesty and lack of nuance.

I'm not sure how anyone reaches this type of conclusion. Other people all have plenty of reasons to twist the truth but not the honest people of Veeky Forums? One of the problems with places like Veeky Forums it can lead to people laboring under the delusion that it is full of honest critical freethinkers when the circulation of ideas is quite limited. Even when someone comes in with hot radical ideas they rarely go deeper then the most popular of the pop shit I've seen before.

I come here mostly out of habit. While I hate the "Veeky Forums is for shitposting" meme it lacks the pretension of other conceptualizations of Veeky Forums and closer matches the reality of it.
