How the fuck do you guys not get bored of lifting 4+ days a week? how do you not mentally burn out?
after years of lifting and playing sports since i was a kid it's just fucking boring
don't you want to go on a hike, get laid, take a class, get a degree, put in more hours at work and advance your career, make art, develop hobbies, travel?
Kevin Lewis
why would molding your body ever get boring. you can lift 4 days a week and still do all those things you listed
Robert Phillips
NGMI
Connor Wood
>you can lift 4 days a week and still do all those things you listed no, no you can't.
Brody Robinson
>4 hours a week is a huge time commitment
David Collins
I go to the gym on my lunch break with my boss. We talk business and check out cardio bunnies together. Our jobs are pretty stressful, I look forward to it all morning, get all my stress out, and breeze through the afternoon. I met all my soccer teammates at the gym too. and my rock climbing buddies. and through that I met my last GF. I bet instead of going to the gym you just eat cheezits and watch netflix, same as every person who would "rather do fun stuff" than exercise.
Brayden Walker
You can do all those things and still lift. In fact, that should give you more motivation to lift, because now you have goals that could benefit from lifting. Hiking? Squat more so you can cover more distance. Taking a class? Lifting helps you focus better. Getting laid? More hip thrusts. It's not that hard. I lift primarily so I can be a better runner, and so far that's more than enough motivation for me.
Jason Perez
Absolutely you can, just stop wasting your time watching tv and sitting on your computer on Veeky Forums, the only thing on that list you can't do while lifting 4 days a week is travel
Carson Cruz
>go to gym in morning >do the nyt crossword >head to class >get home, cook dinner for the wife >read, do independent research, etc. >head to bed around 10-11
really not that tough
Leo Bailey
>I bet instead of going to the gym you just eat cheezits and watch netflix, same as every person who would "rather do fun stuff" than exercise.
Let's play the assume incredulous things game.
I assume that you have a chip on your shoulder because your mother loved your mulatto half-brother more than you.
Fuck off
Colton Butler
so go be a sad cunt? What do you value more than your health? Family may be only respectable answer.
Asher Martinez
ooh I touched a nerve. its the case 9 times out of ten. Or do you eat sun chips and watch hulu? either way, I doubt you do anything more meaningful with that extra 4 hours a week.
Gavin Hill
Really? I'm in my career, obviously not at the level I hope to reach but also a lot further than where I started, go to school full time and still manage to get to the gym 5 days a week. I also kayak every Sunday, and am at the bar until 4 or 5am every Friday.
Cameron Brooks
Fucking kek he must've hit the nail on the head for you to be this butthurt
Adrian Perry
your life sucks
John James
Don't be a fucking pussy and blame what you haven't achieved on lifting. Get off your ass and start doing those things. There are no excuses.
Isaac Anderson
>What do you value more than your health?
My passions and the career goals I want to achieve in life. Seeing beautiful things. Devoting my life to art.
it all just seems empty. go to the gym. bust out front squats, RDL's and ab wheel. go home. eat chicken rice broccoli. have 2 hours before 8 hours sleep otherwise you fuck your gains and your productivity at work. alternate lifts and/or cardio for the next day. after the next week, take your rest day on sunday to hate your life and fap/fuck a 3/10 tinder fatty, and cry because you're too obsessed with being Veeky Forums and following zyzz's bullshit to make time for your life dreams or see your family. go to sleep wondering if you have body image issues because squatz n oatz. repeat the week.
maybe it's time to become an hero
Jordan Edwards
And how much of that do you actually do? whats your day agenda look like?
Austin Turner
there is so much time in a day why would those 1-2h 4x a week be too much to handle. and even if for some miracle you couldnt fit them in just sleep an hour less every day ? voila you have 7h more in a week to do whatever you like.
Logan Hall
I work 40 hours a week, lift 3 times a week, and still have two days to my weekend where I don't have to do shit. Could easily fit in two more days of gym, but I like the balance that I have. If I get bored or am idle I go lift or do accessory work instead.
It all comes down to proper time management and developing a regular routine that you can stick to.
My weekend is spent cooking for the week, which I enjoy, seeing friends and family, watching TV, resting and playing video games.
I don't ever cook when I have to work because I prepare lunch and dinner in advance, it saves a great deal of time. That allows me to go to the gym before or after work.
Takes a good deal of discipline and organizational skills.
Luis Kelly
that reads like someone who has never lifted. in reality lifting is a nice break from the usual stuff. you get to go to the gym and forget about problems at work, relief stress that has built up in your life and come out with a great body and a clear mind.
People always wonder why I am never stressed and it is simple just do some sort of sport and go all out every once in a while and stress is non existant.
Gavin Myers
>that reads like someone who has never lifted. in reality lifting is a nice break from the usual stuff.
lifting is part of the usual stuff
Ayden Gomez
He's married, is going to school, and is pursuing his interests as well. What about that sucks?
Landon Nguyen
being married in 2017 is the part that sucks.
Cooper Rivera
if you are educated most of the usual stuff is mentally draining not actually physically draining. lifting is the other way around, that is what I meant.
you can come home exhausted from work but after an hour in the gym you feel better than before. atleast thats how it goes for me.
Brody Cooper
No, I'm autistic and enjoy grinding. Going to gym is the same as gearing up your RPG character. You do mundane, repetitive shit to gain more power and to look cooler. Once you start treating your everyday conversations as RPG conversations and look at life from the outside you've truly ascended
Nathan Anderson
Because he's not out spending money at clubs, or uploading pictures of himself for tinder so he can have hollow meaningless sex with slores and pretending he's an alphamale because he can't find anyone that wants to spend more than a night with him. Because being lonely and only focusing on lifting is far more satisfying.

Can we just make this a Daily routine thread? your life sounds comfy as fuck.
my day: >do some stretches and listen to a podcast while I wake up >Shower shave and get dressed >Drink coffee with protein powder on the way to work >Kick ass in the office until lunch >Go to the gym with boss, pickup heavy things >work till the work is done >heat up some of my delicious prepped meal, maybe supplement with freshly cooked sides >not even 7pm >Go do freelance work on my laptop on the patio if i have any > if not, meet up with friends or play some volleyball at the park >prepare for the next day, iron clothes and pack gym bag >draw and watch movies or get on discord and play vidya with friends from home >bed by 11 I love this life. I do wish my office had windows though. goals for the future.
Hudson Phillips
Now everyone watch closely as I trigger this young fatass. >Implying I'm white My wife is, but I'm not. Also fuck tradition, find what makes you happy.
Carter Evans
Sounds pretty bitching
Nathan Hernandez
>wake up, shower, brush teeth >drink coffee, stuff oatmeal down throat >get to work >plan different ways to kill myself while staring at excel sheets >make small talk with normie office fagots >leave work, be emotionally, mentally drained >go to gym, do lifts and try and find some meaning to life while finding motivation to deadlift >drive home tired and miserable >make dinner >read a book / fap / fuck a fatty / stare at the ceiling for an hour >go to bed >rinse and repeat
life is hell make it stop
Ethan Cook
>don't you want to go on a hike, get laid, take a class, get a degree, put in more hours at work and advance your career, make art, develop hobbies, travel?
All that, for me, is dependent on me working out. I remember being out of shape and just never getting chicks, being a laughing stock that distanced himself from friends because he couldn't take teasing anymore, I remember how my academic performance was shit because I was depressed all the time, etc.
If you're in your very core a loser, like I am, being fit is a prerequisite for you to enjoy anything in life.
Jason Stewart
OP. It's not that you're burned out, it's that you're retarded

Build up your savings a bit and start looking to change jobs. If youre miserable 40 hours a week you arent living.
Jaxson Walker
By enjoying what I'm doing, and having long ago given up expecting to reach some imaginary finish line.
Adrian Gutierrez
Not jew either. It's almost like I don't fit into the stereotypes you've been taught to assume by /pol/. Hmmm.....
Samuel Baker
Yes you can you mong, this is probably bait tho A modest lifting routine takes like an hour a day. That's four hours of your week
Parker Brown
what's your answer to
>entitled milennials expect to enjoy their jobs >that's why it's called WORK you entitled millennials >your generation is cancer you want life so easy >suck it up back in my day i survived nuclear holocausts and smiled while doing it
answer this
Elijah Robinson
>fuck a fatty Found the problem to your depression.
Aaron Foster
I dont "enjoy" my job but I derive some measure of satisfaction from it, and my office environment is well below average. There are a lot of jobs now that are existantially meaningless and mentally draining. If you have the capability to do something both better and more meaningful, then try. If youre just gonna sit on your ass and be miserable forever, then just off yourself. Im not saying quit your job to be a NEET or an artist or something, but put you can reach out to other potential jobs and then just leave for a better opportunity.
Wyatt Jenkins
hey ty for nice words
I'm in love, and if my wife leaves me, then I'll move on (eventually). The important thing is that I'm happy now :)
>coffee with protein powder is this good? life seems swell bud
you can do it i used to lift in the evening, couldn't hack it because I would be tired from the day maybe try switching the routine? Get to bed early and hit the gym in the morning?
Benjamin Taylor
honestly I laugh at older people who say shit like this, they've had a lifetime full of misery, were too stupid or didn't have the balls to change it, and are now bitter when the next generation doesn't want to go through the same thing. You can say a lot of shit about millennials but at least we try to enjoy our lives instead of taking a dick up the ass for years and rationalizing it
Jace Sanders
>coffee with protein powder Its a little weird at first, but I replaced sugar or creamer with 2 scoops. I did some reading and the heat is fine for protein powder, it denatures it, but so does your stomach, so its all the same. Its like a cheap, healthy mocha thats good for cutting.
Logan Williams
I enjoy my job what now lol. I'm a fireman, it's super rewarding and most days I have fun at work, we have fucked up days to but over all I love my job
Jordan Cooper
Different user, but coffee/protein is all about flavor pairing. It can take awhile to find a good combination, but generally avoid anything with zero fats. A little "grease" seems to make it bond much smoother, otherwise you get a ton of foam.
Ian Sanchez
will keep in mind might give it a go
Daniel Scott
I'm not working now because I study from 1 pm to 11 pm, so usually I go:
>wake up >prepare breakfast >read notes of my previous study session while I eat >do Anki and other programs for language-learning when I'm done >go to the gym or muay thai pratice >get back home >shower >leave for college around noon >have classes until 5 pm >2 hour break until my next classes >try to use time for studying >often just lay around talking to someone instead >classes from 7 pm to 10:30 pm >bed by 11:30 pm
Usually I prepare all my meals at home and take them to college, since I can't really afford to eat there.
I enjoy this routine. Lifting and staying in college all day has made me a lot more sociable, and this is the first time I'm my life I'm being a good student. Learning has becoming enjoyable all of sudden, and I mean things related to my major or not. When I get tired of law I listen to a podcast like History of Philosophy Without Any Gaps, watch history videos, some tutorials, etc.
I've never been happier desu.
Bentley Anderson
>ITT: NEETs & college kids
Camden Kelly
> Wake up around 7 > Make coffee > Brush teeth > Gym > Class > Work > Eat a few times in between > Dinner > Shower > Homework, reading, teaching myself math, or if I'm finally burnt out a little Netflix or Vidya Grind mode
Asher Ward
>were too stupid or didn't have the balls to change it, and are now bitter when the next generation doesn't want to go through the same thing.
We're a lot more stupid than they are.
Because look, 8 hours a day in an office was never good, but it made some sense with the technology and techniques the previous generations were dealing with.
But we grew up with computers and amazing new technology that facilitates everything and just allow the same arrangemente to continue. No six-hours workday movement, no demand to be allowed to do some of the work at home (where you'd probably be more productive), productivity increases while wages remain the same, etc. Despite all the "millenials love Socialism!" headlines to scare boomers, we're pretty cucked, certainly more than boomers.
Connor Davis
It's a lifestyle. It's not something you do for fun it's something you work for to see results.
Kevin Jones
An hour and a half 4 times a week isn't bad at all. Most people just watch netflix and smoke pot during those hours - why not use them to do something that promotes your longterm health and happiness
William Barnes
Well im going to gym every single day, also im working on a degree. And im going on a trip abroad on 21st so yeah were not one dimensional....
Joseph Gomez
You need to lift before work, will change your whole day.
Nicholas Turner
Dude lol. I lifted for two hours a day six days a week for half a year and still had time for all that shit you mentioned. Figured your shit out senpai
Oliver Robinson
honestly, as comfy as your day looks it seems kinda boring. ive never done the whole research at university thing though sounds nice, where do you live? find something to make you happy man, keep it up working out that brain, nice. sounds fairly comfy too keep it up brother
Here's my optimal day: >wake up 7:20 >shower for about 10-15 mins (quicker if need a boost with a cold shower) >brush teeth, pack bag with gym shit >bus then train to work, arrive 8:30 >team huddle then prepare oatmeal and some toast with a lot of butter at work (free breakfast) >browse Veeky Forums while eating >work till lunch >12 head out to gym >1 pm buy something for lunch (should really be preparing something) >eat with coworkers, play some pool after >work till 5 >head to bouldering gym >do some climbs, socialize there for a bit. maybe do the yoga or abs class they have going some days >head back home with climbing qt >grab dinner on the way back, sushi or kebab usually >watch some shit with dinner >rough sex then fall asleep
Juan Bailey
You don't hate yourself enough goml
Gavin Collins
I cannot burn out mentally because i always burn out physically.. its science bro
Dylan Rivera
You don't have to be Jewish to be a jew.

I spent so long lifting 5-6/week which was tiring when I switched to 4/week I feel like Plenty of time to relax. 2 of those sessions are weekend and 2 during the week so it only requires afew hours in the morning on sat sun then the rest of the day is free and the two weekday sessions are before work which takes some getting used to. Only annoying thing is going to be earlier the night before.
If you meant in terms of body getting fatigued 3-4 sessions a week shouldn't be too overwhelming unless you are new to lifting or doing overly excessive volume. My sessions are around 90min - upper/lower twice a week.
Jack Hernandez
I live in Baltimurder
Lucas Morris
It should get boring. It should be routine. It's the same as showering or brushing your teeth or getting dressed. You can get some new soap, a new toothbrush, and buy a new wardrobe; but the point is to get yourself into the habit.

Brody Price
>honestly, as comfy as your day looks it seems kinda boring. ive never done the whole research at university thing though i like it a lot, which i think is the most important part, right? i usually do independent research, so topics that I want to learn about -- I've checked out books about hip-hop, lit theory, japanese lit, etc.
Colton Thomas
I work 50 hour weeks, have a gf, have friends, regularly visit my family, and travel/go outside constantly. your a lazy faggot who doesnt deserve to have fun.
Christian Rivera
Post pics of your gf or you're a virgin wagecuck faggot who got babyfucked by his dad
Michael Taylor
Man I just do it for myself. So much BS piles up and I look at the gym as my outlet. I can't get enough of it. I wish I could go hard every day. It's what gives me relief. No matter what happens in life crank on some Hatebreed and lift the pain away.
Christopher Allen

Isaiah Kelly
I find lifting and running both very fun, it wasn't at first but now every time I bench 3 plates I feel like I'm a god among mere mortals.
Christian Anderson
Ah, actually sounds pretty decent then. I guess I expected that it was researching something like law or medicine.

Since i work out at lunch its more like a 40 minute workout, and then 20 minutes of core or cardio after work
