How the fuck do you guys not get bored of lifting 4+ days a week? how do you not mentally burn out?

after years of lifting and playing sports since i was a kid it's just fucking boring

don't you want to go on a hike, get laid, take a class, get a degree, put in more hours at work and advance your career, make art, develop hobbies, travel?

why would molding your body ever get boring. you can lift 4 days a week and still do all those things you listed

I go to the gym on my lunch break with my boss. We talk business and check out cardio bunnies together.
Our jobs are pretty stressful, I look forward to it all morning, get all my stress out, and breeze through the afternoon. I met all my soccer teammates at the gym too. and my rock climbing buddies. and through that I met my last GF.

You can do all those things and still lift. In fact, that should give you more motivation to lift, because now you have goals that could benefit from lifting. Hiking? Squat more so you can cover more distance. Taking a class? Lifting helps you focus better. Getting laid? More hip thrusts. It's not that hard. I lift primarily so I can be a better runner, and so far that's more than enough motivation for me.

Absolutely you can, just stop wasting your time watching tv and sitting on your computer on Veeky Forums, the only thing on that list you can't do while lifting 4 days a week is travel

Really? I'm in my career, obviously not at the level I hope to reach but also a lot further than where I started, go to school full time and still manage to get to the gym 5 days a week. I also kayak every Sunday, and am at the bar until 4 or 5am every Friday.

there is so much time in a day why would those 1-2h 4x a week be too much to handle. and even if for some miracle you couldnt fit them in just sleep an hour less every day ? voila you have 7h more in a week to do whatever you like.

I work 40 hours a week, lift 3 times a week, and still have two days to my weekend where I don't have to do shit. Could easily fit in two more days of gym, but I like the balance that I have. If I get bored or am idle I go lift or do accessory work instead.

It all comes down to proper time management and developing a regular routine that you can stick to.

My weekend is spent cooking for the week, which I enjoy, seeing friends and family, watching TV, resting and playing video games.

I don't ever cook when I have to work because I prepare lunch and dinner in advance, it saves a great deal of time. That allows me to go to the gym before or after work.

Takes a good deal of discipline and organizational skills.

No, I'm autistic and enjoy grinding. Going to gym is the same as gearing up your RPG character. You do mundane, repetitive shit to gain more power and to look cooler. Once you start treating your everyday conversations as RPG conversations and look at life from the outside you've truly ascended

All that, for me, is dependent on me working out. I remember being out of shape and just never getting chicks, being a laughing stock that distanced himself from friends because he couldn't take teasing anymore, I remember how my academic performance was shit because I was depressed all the time, etc.

If you're in your very core a loser, like I am, being fit is a prerequisite for you to enjoy anything in life.

I dont "enjoy" my job but I derive some measure of satisfaction from it, and my office environment is well below average. There are a lot of jobs now that are existantially meaningless and mentally draining. If you have the capability to do something both better and more meaningful, then try. If youre just gonna sit on your ass and be miserable forever, then just off yourself.
Im not saying quit your job to be a NEET or an artist or something, but put you can reach out to other potential jobs and then just leave for a better opportunity.

honestly I laugh at older people who say shit like this, they've had a lifetime full of misery, were too stupid or didn't have the balls to change it, and are now bitter when the next generation doesn't want to go through the same thing. Its a little weird at first, but I replaced sugar or creamer with 2 scoops. I did some reading and the heat is fine for protein powder, it denatures it, but so does your stomach, so its all the same.
Its like a cheap, healthy mocha thats good for cutting.

Different user, but coffee/protein is all about flavor pairing. It can take awhile to find a good combination, but generally avoid anything with zero fats. A little "grease" seems to make it bond much smoother, otherwise you get a ton of foam.

Usually I prepare all my meals at home and take them to college, since I can't really afford to eat there.

I enjoy this routine. Lifting and staying in college all day has made me a lot more sociable, and this is the first time I'm my life I'm being a good student. Learning has becoming enjoyable all of sudden, and I mean things related to my major or not. When I get tired of law I listen to a podcast like History of Philosophy Without Any Gaps, watch history videos, some tutorials, etc.

I've never been happier desu.

We're a lot more stupid than they are.

Because look, 8 hours a day in an office was never good, but it made some sense with the technology and techniques the previous generations were dealing with.

But we grew up with computers and amazing new technology that facilitates everything and just allow the same arrangemente to continue. No six-hours workday movement, no demand to be allowed to do some of the work at home (where you'd probably be more productive), productivity increases while wages remain the same, etc. Despite all the "millenials love Socialism!" headlines to scare boomers, we're pretty cucked, certainly more than boomers.

It's a lifestyle. It's not something you do for fun it's something you work for to see results.

An hour and a half 4 times a week isn't bad at all. Most people just watch netflix and smoke pot during those hours - why not use them to do something that promotes your longterm health and happiness

>shower for about 10-15 mins (quicker if need a boost with a cold shower)
>brush teeth, pack bag with gym shit
>bus then train to work, arrive 8:30
>team huddle then prepare oatmeal and some toast with a lot of butter at work (free breakfast)
>browse Veeky Forums while eating
>work till lunch
>12 head out to gym
>1 pm buy something for lunch (should really be preparing something)
>eat with coworkers, play some pool after
>work till 5
>head to bouldering gym
>do some climbs, socialize there for a bit. maybe do the yoga or abs class they have going some days
>head back home with climbing qt
>grab dinner on the way back, sushi or kebab usually
>watch some shit with dinner
>rough sex then fall asleep

I spent so long lifting 5-6/week which was tiring when I switched to 4/week I feel like Plenty of time to relax. 2 of those sessions are weekend and 2 during the week so it only requires afew hours in the morning on sat sun then the rest of the day is free and the two weekday sessions are before work which takes some getting used to. Only annoying thing is going to be earlier the night before.


If you meant in terms of body getting fatigued 3-4 sessions a week shouldn't be too overwhelming unless you are new to lifting or doing overly excessive volume. My sessions are around 90min - upper/lower twice a week.

It should get boring. It should be routine. It's the same as showering or brushing your teeth or getting dressed. You can get some new soap, a new toothbrush, and buy a new wardrobe; but the point is to get yourself into the habit.

Since i work out at lunch its more like a 40 minute workout, and then 20 minutes of core or cardio after work
