Some of my Facebook friends have been raving about What the Health, a new documentary. What does Veeky Forums think of the documentary? It makes some absurd claims and is awfully biased. It never discusses how people don't exercise and that animal-based diets will essentially give you cancer, diabetes, etc.

It's biased and screws facts in order to manipulate. There are tons of problems with eating meat and I'm vegan myself, but I think getting people to reduce their meat-consumption is best done through honesty.

Lying just harms the cause; lying gets you people like who WILL take the time and effort to disprove every single little thing wrong in a pro-vegan documentary because they're just THAT dedicated to protecting their meat-eating habit. Any pro-vegan media needs to be 100% accurate, straight-forward, transparent and honest in order to have any positive effect. Otherwise meat-eaters will just use its poor quality as an excuse to dismiss veganism as a whole and keep eating meat.

vegans are like climate change experts, always lying and shaming

>vegans are like climate change experts, always lying and shaming
2017, still this retarded

science.house.gov/news/press-releases/former-noaa-scientist-confirms-colleagues-manipulated-climate-records

>teehee

>implying climate change isn't a real issue

why are frog posters so schizophrenic that they think (((the media))) is trying to push climate change

like who does the existence of climate change benefit

Saw it last night, ridiculously biased and the presenter was an omega tier male. At one point they claim that a serving of meat is the same as smoking 5 cigarettes.

Some dindu "scientist" also claimed that the American government is perpetuating systemic racism by encouraging the public to drink milk and since so many blacks are lactose intolerant that is evidence of systemic racism

It actually IS kinda the same thing. In both cases, there is a REAL issue, but some people become so gung-ho about resolving it that they decide that lying, oversimplifying, manipulating data and trying to scare people are not only justified tactics, but something that will work. Others just see a way to get fame and money out of gullible hippies with hearts in the right place but heads way up their own butts.

And of course the opposite happens and it all backfires, and you get people who reject even the possibility of there being a problem and actively mock and hate those who recognize the problem.

These sorts of things need to be approached with intellectual integrity. It's the only way.

Do you keep all these links bookmarked and are they worth reading

I bought it for my vegan girlfriend for 15 bucks before it was free on flix so

What is this shit, a commercial for the sugar industry? What kind of retards are going to argue that sugar isnt the cause of diabetes, but meat is? Am I taking crazy pills?

An emerging new market with giant gaps in it with costs too high that want government subsidies to get free gibs for their customers which immediately goes to them.

>entire human metabolic physiology is based on managing glucose for energy
>glucose causes this system to break

>mechanism exists explaining how sugar causes diabetes
>no mechanism exists explaining how meat causes diabetes

well you see meat is bad okay...

>Sugar is all glucose
>Glucose is what is processed into 80% of products Americans eat

Nobody is telling you the truth, user. There are just different groups with different interests, all using a mashup of lies, half-truths and tidbits of actual facts in order to manipulate you one way or another. Big Sugar pulls one way, Big Meat another; postmodern leftists in academia pull one way and alt-right clowns another; Big Oil one way, emerging "Green" companies another and so on and on and on...

Truth, user, is not an ideal. It's a business. What do you want to be true? Whatever it is, someone out there has a supply to match your demand, and make sure you feel smart and can act superior and condescending to the fools who think otherwise. Nothing matters. Not people or animals or the planet, only money matters. You are nothing but a walking bag of money and labour to other bags of money and labour.

>human body is 60% water
>too much water can kill you
It's almost as if oversimplifying is a shitty way or "arguing".

>50% glucose
>50% fructose
>both easily metabolized for energy at the cellular level and stored as glycogen

>entire blood content of glucose (5 litres of blood) is 5g
>eat biscuits, cakes, cereals, bread, soft drink
>glucose is instantly absorbed to blood
>blood glucose reading is now 5x what it should be
>body rapidly pumps insulin to put the glucose into cells so that the protein in the blood doesn't undergo non-enzymatic glycosylation
>this amount of glucose not in a chain or with other fibre was never available to humans in our 3.5 billion year evolution
>pancreatic beta cells that produce this insulin start to die as a result
>muh diabetes

oh but it can't be SUGAR!!!

Please post more often

No!

>both easily metabolized for energy at the cellular level and stored as glycogen
>fructose easily metabolized at the cellular level
>stored as glycogen

here is where i find out you know jack shit

fructose cannot be metabolized by any cell except for in the liver, causing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease as it is converted to lipids and glycogen

feel free to research some more, vege loser

>"thing X" isn't bad
>too much of thing X can kill you!

No one is saying to go eat a bucket of fucking sugar, dude.

Again, our entire energy physiology is based on metabolizing and managing glucose. You're actually arguing that the body builds up a "tolerance" to a hormone that regulates blood sugar by being exposed to it too much. Does this happen with literally any other hormone in the body?

No.

Hormones dictate what cells do. The only reason they can't is when something interferes with their receptors to receive the hormone. So what makes more sense, glucose fucking up our metabolic process entirely revolving around glucose, or eating garbage that fucks with our cell's ability to respond to insulin which then fucks with our ability to process glucose? I'm betting on the second. Does that mean veganism? Who the fuck knows. But to say carbs cause diabetes is retarded.

>You're actually arguing that the body builds up a "tolerance" to a hormone that regulates blood sugar by being exposed to it too much. Does this happen with literally any other hormone in the body?

holy fuck vegans are literally mentally retarded

this is called a negative feedback loop and is how every hormone in the body, as well as opiod is handled you dopey-slackjawed-unevolved beta cuck

Same thread with the same replies posted 3 days in a row. Am i the only non bot on thus site?

>What is known as a "tolerance" to a hormone that regulates blood sugar?
>What is insulin resistance?

>holy fuck vegans are literally mentally retarded

Not vegan, just not afraid of carbs. Also
>has a bunch of retarded pepes saved to his computer
>unironically calling anyone else on Earth retarded

> negative feedback loop
>uses opiods as an example
>comparing an external substance's effect on hormones to natural hormone secretion

Learn cellular biology nigga.

>What is insulin resistance?

The inability for insulin to function properly due to an inability for it to MAKE IT INTO THE CELL.

>Meat gives you diabetes
Lol wtf dude do you even know what diabetes is?

I thought diabetes was caused by being fat and having that fat suffocate your pancreas?

>uses literally every hormone as an example
there are natural opiods too you absolute dumb shit, that's why there are receptors, because we produce them from positive stimulus. you are literally just making everything up like a nigger

yeah, the body reduces the amount of receptors for insulin as there is too much insulin floating around, it does this for every hormone and neurotransmitter you complete faggot

You're confusing macro with micro biology. Enjoy your betus when you're 35.

What?! No you dumbass, some types of diabetes appear in otherwise healthy children and they have to live with it their whole lives. It's also strongly correlated that senior onset diabetes is related to the subjects being malnourished in their youth due to war or famine. It all has to do with pancreas health.

what you said just made zero sense, same as everything else your atrophied brain comes up with that dribbles out of your post-stroke mouth
