the only people interested in pushing this through are greedy chink miners, and large exchanges too lazy to implement segwit transactions, and just want more block space to shove their inefficient deposits and withdrawals.
whether the end result (4mb effective block size) is good technically, or not, is irrelevant. if the chinks manage to take over development, and push this through against the wishes of the community, then it shows that bitcoin has been fully compromised.
