ITT: Exercises you always see beginners do at the gym. I'll start:

>dips
>bench press
>lat pull down
>crunches
>hex-bar deadlifts

>beginners
>dips

What's wrong with any of these exercises senpai

weighted dips are THE exercise for virgins, especially if they don't bench press at all

Other than crunches these are all top tier lifts, what's the problem?

>implying that those are not good exercises

Are you fucking joking?

>arguably the best chest accessory you can do
>meme status

K kid.

this is unironically my goto routine

>weighted dips

I don't like deadlifts. I prefer to rack pull.

>bench press
>lat pull down
everyone and their mom does these

HAHAHAHA good bait

t. virgin

bet you do weighted chins as well
>lat pull down
crushing dat dere full stack for sets of 20 like a MUSCLE GOD is top tier though

low bar squat for 3 sets of 5 followed by bench press or overhead press for 3 sets of 5, always alternating bench and overhead press in a 1:1 ratio

jealous fatty

I bet you hate chin ups too

so you prefer doing less than half the movement?

>chin ups

THIS

Yes, I'm too tall for that shit, feels awful.

Most people on Veeky Forums are too poor to afford to go to a gym with a hex bar

A rack pull, as far as I'm concerned, is in no way a replacement for the deadlift. You're doing half the movement and taking out the lower body portion of the exercise to a large extent. Rack pulls above the knee are amazing, but it's mostly a body builder thing, seeing as it has no real practicality or carry over to regular deadlifting. Not saying you're only doing ATK rack pulls, but rack pulls in general are more for overloading your upper back and traps and a lot less about training your legs.

Who squats and benches on the same day?

>dips
no
>bench press
yes
>lat pull downs
yes
>crunches
yes
>hex bar deadlifts
no

all of those movements are great exercises though (apart from bench - not a fan)

You probably have shit mobility then.

>i'm too weak and overweight to do the exercise, therefore it's meme-tier
holy shit

low qual bait/10

people on full body programs

>upper back and traps and a lot less about training your legs.
Yeah. I squat, hack squat, leg press, hamstring curl, calf raise for legs

3/10

oh wait is this just one of those bait threads?

I do. Nothing wrong with that. Here is my routine,

>Squats
>Bench Press
>Incline Bench Press
>Deadlift
>Lat pull down
>Bicep Curls
>Tricep extensions

4x a week

Oh ok, I forgot about fully body.

>lat pull down behind the head
Literally every single new guy

>No rear delt work
Good luck with your fucked up shoulders.
Also
>No vertical press

>implying low weight behind the neck lat pulldowns aren't GOAT for shoulder and overhead flexibility

well then you're fine

Those are all great exercises if you make "crunches" weighted cable crunches. If you added in pullups and some HIIT sprints you would be fit as fuck just doing what you mentioned OP.

KYS

I do.

Nothing wrong with behind the head pull down my friend. Solid back exercise.

Add some kind of row and some kind of vertical press to it.
Otherwise you'll fuck your shoulder up in two ways:
>No rear delt/rotator cuff work - fucked up posture because of no rows
>No vertical press - Small shoulders.
>

>no curls

>nothing wrong behind the head pull down

How to spot a beginner

People still do curls?

>not doing both in the same workout

>anything behind the head
>ever

This is neither relevant or true. Idk what 3rd world country you live in that hex bars are a luxury. Every gym i've been to has had a hex bar, including the ones in my ghetto ass neighborhood.

It's like you people have never even heard of weightlifting

>using improper form
>ever

Tell me one reason why anyone would do behind the head over front

I bet you're afraid of squats too

>what are front squats

>seated press machine
>cheat dumbbell curls
>cheat barbell curls
>dumbbell flys
>pec deck
>preacher curls
>leg extension
>leg curl
>cable crunches

Mobility.

I dont get it. I could do a ton of dips in a row before I could bench 1 plate or even do a pullup.

An exercise that is actually very mechanically different to a back squat.

>practicality
Are you a competitive powerlifter?

You were either not doing a full RoM or were a spooky skeltal.

I'm just curious. If you don't do dips or bench press, what are you doing for your chest? Unless you don't count dumbbell chest press as a bench press, those are two of the best you can so. Pec deck, guillotine press, flies, etc?

>i see people doing normal exercise
>i should post about this on that new fitness board i found during summer break
Only a few more weeks lads

>Squats
>OHP
>Deadlifts
>Bench Press
>Rows
>Power Cleans
>Chin Ups
>Dips

Not really. Only major difference is under heavy loads the thoracic spinal erectors are stressed more than heavy loads in the back squat, which stress lumbar spine erectors more.

I've been here since 2005, came from the Vestibule on IGN. How old are you?

with flat and incline he's already got more than enough front delt work, no need for a vertical press

unless he just wants to do it for the hell of it he'd be better off adding in rear and side delt work

No you havnt

That doesn't make sense. If you're tall longer arms will compensate for longer legs.

Deadlifts feel uncomfortable for 90% of people the first few times. You only change that by working on form, strength, Iand mobility

Quit make excuses, stretch and deadlift like a man.

>Dumbbell presses
>Ab wheel
>Squats
>Splits
>Bicycle for cardio
>Overhead presses
If you're still doing any these then you might as well stay a skinnyfat

>that full body routine
>4 times a week

enjoy your no gains.

>t. recoverylet

>ONE SET OF EVERY FUCKING MACHINE IN THE GYM SUPERSETTED WITH CURLS

Anyone on SS or SL.

>The shortest range of motion ever.
>When I learned about them, I laughed.
>CUTTING IT IN HALF

I just did all of those today except for the hex bar : (

So you think powerlifting is about practicality?

For some reason dyels have a fascination with wrist curls, like that's the thing their twig body needs.

You forgot bicep curls

weighted dips is actually, quite objectively, a better exercise than bench.

also, weighted pull ups/chins > lat pulldowns, but that is obvious

not even b8ing

this is what i end up seeing
lot of people going through all the machines in random orders regardless working the full body in one set per machine
also they have gloves on while they do this

you misspelled "stupidity"

>suicide grip on bench

like i know he's a model and that bar isn't even loaded but still...

>curls
>bench

everytime I have to bench or curl I feel like a fucking tryhard newbie. I'd rather be squatting or pressing

W-whats wrong with biking for cardio?

Beginners love dips but they always do 20 degrees rom

it makes men impotent

>not doing behind the neck press because 'muh shoulders'
>not hitting all three heads of the delt
>not doing the best shoulder exercise going

Any exercise is shit if you disregard good form.

Fatty detected

Not everyone has cancer, like you. We all recover between workouts just fine, thank you.

(You)

yeah why the fuck wouldnt it be?

stop peddling shit advice for your amusement, people with back problems and shit leverages (tall with long ass legs) dont need to fucking dl unless they are powerfats. having long arms does not balance out how predisposed tall people are to having back problems when deadlifting

The hex bar deadlifts seem cringy

Just be a man and use a bar

>Bench press
>Curling
Who needs to do more? Legs are literally a meme

>Weighted dips
Weighted dips meme is a meme user. Lurk more.
THat being said, I did 120 Weighted dip at 180 (300 pound total) for 3 reps, I still look DYEL.

Do it with full range of motion and you're good to go. Then weighted when you can. Beginners do them partially and call them a tricep exercise.

kek

>hexbar deadlifts
Fucking where the hexbars are never touched unless I use them

Sumo is cringy, just be a man and do conventional

Switch grip is cringy, just lift normal pussy

Conventional is cringy, just be a man and do Zecher deads. Oh, it's harder and easier to injure yourself on? Isn't that the pussy excuse for trap bars?

these two skinny kids came in the gym the other day

>walk right to bench press
>no warmup
>throws a 45 on each side
>lays down
>lifts it up and it comes crashing down to his chest
>his buddy has to help him get it up
>they continue this for about 3 more sets adding weight each time

who the fuck even thinks its smart to walk in and hit 135 as a 1rm nearly nekkin yourself.

Trap bar > squat prove me wrong faggot

Using the dyel bar = not a lift.

That's like lifting 2 pl8 with the man's bar.

Well, lets begin
>lat pull down
Fat cunt mode
>crunches
Weak tier retard mode. V situps, hanging leg raises, russian twists, planks with weight and other shit like that is what you should use.
>hex-bar deadlifts
Why, just do regular fucking deadlifts.
>dips
They are pretty fucking lit for triceps. People here treat it as a meme for some reason.

IMO curls are the biggest meme, especially with the way most gym bros do them, They are decent as afterburn, but can't really say much else about them

>machines
