The problem is in extracting energy. If you don't have to pay for feeding them I'd put them on some kind of alternating cardio machine, where they can employ different muscle groups alternately and don't have to support their own weight to avoid knee blowout.

If you were expected to maintain them, then you could burn them, but you'd have to butcher them first and separate the tissue, probably subject it to some kind of heat drying treatment in order to remove the humidity, since human bodies don't really combust well without an accelerant.

This is just conjecture, I've never had to dissecate and burn humans.
