Why wasn't Fascism more popular in Britain despite Britain also being in similar political and economic situations?

Why wasn't Fascism more popular in Britain despite Britain also being in similar political and economic situations?

Because fascists are faggots and Britain hates fags

They won the war, so there wasn't the desire for revanchism.

>Britain also being in similar political and economic situations?
Dumbest post today

>Britain also being in similar political and economic situations?

But it wasn't

>similar political and economic situations?
Similar to who? Germany? Italy? The political situation was way more stable than in either of those countries. Further their economy was far more developed, so there was no motivation to undertake the massive overhauls necessary in those continental powers that turned to totalitarianism on the continent. Sure, the depression hit them, but not nearly as bad as Germany.

British national conscience values moderate politics.

1. They won the war
2. They weren't in similar political or economic situations
3. The british army in WW1 was smaller than the german army, and british soldiers were not conscripts. Less young men were affected by WW1.

>british soldiers were not conscripts
They absolutely were after 1916

That's true? shit
Well I'm pretty sure less men were thrown in on the part of britain than Germany anyway.

No, Britain like every other country couldn't keep up with the casualties and had to introduce conscription for the first time in history, it was a very big deal and by the end of the war they were discussing conscripting priests who were previously exempt

Britain per capita at a population of 40 million lost roughly the same, as Germany at 80 million.

fascism only became popular in countries with a real threat of communist revolution. As right about everything as Mosley was, he was born in the wrong country to accomplish anything

The Blackshirts were basically turbo old-labor anyway (he was afterall a former labor member), if you look at their policies there really isn't anything particularly fascist about it except the name

This , UK is quite unique in the sense that it is a conservative based nation, Its all about moderate and gradual change whilst Fascism and Communism are very revolutionary.
Plus UK populous weren't in an autistic rage as they won the 1st World War and got phat concessions in victory unlike the pasta peoples.

Mosley wasn´t the only one, there were at least 3 fascist parties and they failed to unite

>why did a nation that won WW1 not like an ideology based around revanchism?
>why did a nation that didnt lose and/or was cheated out of territory not like an ideology based around irredentism?
>why did a nation that wasnt utterly humiliated in the aftermath of WW1 and not have any major economic problems not like an ideology based around palingenetic ultranationalism?

>Why wasn't an authoritarian ideology more popular in a country with a history of democratic values?

Oi m8 do u 'ave a license 'or thatder fascism?

I wonder what Britain had that Germany didn't. Just slips my mind

We still lost all of this after the war lmao. Mosley was right

Seconding these.

Oh fuck off, the English love faggotry of all types. The problem was fascism wasn't faggoted enough for them. The public school boys would've been all over it if it had all of the Cabaret/Michael York/Joel Gray burlesque to it.

Britain Hates fags eh?

1. Britain had consolidated its democratic institutions over century, Labour had adapted to representative democracy, providing an outlet to the working class without threatening to overthrow the system. Weimar Germany, Japan and Italy in contrast had little tradition of democracy and both their left and right parties were more radicalized.

2. In the 1920s and 1930s Britain had better living standards than Germany and particularly Italy and Japan. Higher GDP per capita, car ownership, lower infant mortality, etc.

3. Britain was WW1 victor controlling a vast Empire. There was no revanchism and no jealousy over lack of colonies as in Germany, Italy or Japan, which considered this a national shame.

alright m8 you're spending 50 weeks in the hole for that hate speech

>Britain hates fags

Oi mate you better stop that hatefull speech

They didn't sabotage the parliament by abusing the constitution, but instead got fucked over themselves by the ruling class.

Oi mate where's your hate speech license?

Stop samefagging.
It's so cringey it hurts

>Be Mosley
>Decide to write your own Manifesto
>A Fascism that is "Uniquely British"
>ALRIGHT LADS HERE'S WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN, WE ARE GOING TO SPLIT GOVERNMENT AND PARLIAMENT, PARLIAMENT WILL NOT HAVE THE POWER OF OBSTRUCTION AND GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE POWER TO LEGISLATE BY "ORDER".
