What made Veeky Forums one of the best board on Veeky Forums to one of the worst?

In my opinion, the inevitable back flow from reddit. Sure, other boards culture has become part of the current /fit, but mannerism of reddit are here. The idea to conform 'le upvote' is slowly degrading what previously I thought was a pretty free-thought board (as long as it was fitness related).

Also, since the true King of Fit has left us (read Supermong), the board has lacked people calling out one another for not lifting as much, or as well.

All the funny/notable people made it and stopped coming back. What remains is losers and underage, and monster's PR team. Almost all the good memes are recycled from 2+ years ago. Likewise if you've been lifting for 2 years or more and still haven't made it you're not going to and you're here forever.

The only good things happening this year is the Chad meme took off in full force, brapposting, tinder reply threads and you might hate it but I enjoy the back and forth of boogieposting until he comes out of lurking.
