Why is it that in general all the women who do crossfit are built as fuck but the majority of the men who do it seem skinny by comparison? Elite level guys have great bodies but still at the crossfit gym near my house all the women are huge and the guys are twigs. All I can think is that there are more examples of big physiques for guys than girls so that makes the crossfit girls stand out more.

Could have something to do with muscle fiber type distribution in women. There has been some evidence that many women respond with more muscle growth to programs that are very high intensity and endurance based when it comes to weight training than men. Again, nothing totally conclusive has been proven but it's an interesting thing to consider.
