Judo, because judon't know if I've got a 9mm or a .45

d'ya get it?

For street fight, do muay thai. In street fights there are no weight classes and weight is way more important for grappling than for striking. Muay thai is basically the best striking you will ever find. Plus it teaches you basic grappling defense and clinch knees and trips and sweeps, so its gucci.
If you want an actual answer, here it is.
>What about usefulness in a street fight?
In a street fight weights are mismatched, so its not really about tech, its about size, when it comes to grappling.
Also, don't do fucking street fights, they are RETARDED. Srs, don't get into fights.
>Judo or Wrestling? What is the most effective in your opinion?
High level judoka can wrestle pretty well, m8. Honestly for grappling just do BJJ or some shit. BJJ is GOAT.

Most American post ITT.

kek

I am actually russian both in ethnicity and citizenship. What made you think that i am american?

I did some muay thai but I don't want to get brain damages. Even light sparrings is risky.
BJJ doesn't really learn how to takedown although it's unmatched on the ground desu

Probably judo, because you're less commited to the grapple after the throw, compared to wrestling.
Honestly the best "martial art" for street fighting is boxing. It's really simple and easy to learn, and heavy bag training is an amazing workout. Seriously, if you can both punch with effectiveness and avoid/block punches, you will win most street fights.

>I did some muay thai but I don't want to get brain damages. Even light sparrings is risky.
If you are just an average nigger, who fights as a hobby, its not really a big deal for a guy who does it as a hobby. Too much fighting and heavy sparring with not enough recovery and getting KO'd leads to old boxers ending up pretty stupid at an old age. Grappling martial arts are probably worse than striking desu. Your joints can get all fucked in so many different ways its unbelievable.

I see what you mean, but I'd rather fuck my limbs up than my brain senpai
I want to compete a little, this is why I threw boxing out of the plan

Wrestling

Why?

bump

You won't do enough to get it. You'll probably only do six months of training and go back to sucking down you mtn dew and being a fat cunt.

I've done it for twenty years now and I'm still able to function in a highly cerebral type of employment.

What? I did 2 years od muay thai and I'm not a fat cunt kek, I'm lifting for now.
Plenty of studies state that even with very light training you risk brain trauma.
Of course it doesn't make you a mongoloid, but still can fuck you up when you start to get old

Wrestling, and it isn't even close. Judo is bottom tier of the useful grappling arts.

That post is not American at all.

Proof of said studies? I swear people nowadays are scared of everything. Better sit in your couch and watch tv and play vidya goy. Go to an airconditioned gym and lift weights in a controlled matter, you don't want to get injured, do you? Unless you've had a fighting career of 10-20 years while often taking many hits to the face, nothing will happen.

Wrestling is better conditioning and all that, but judo works better in the streets. Muay Thai doesn't work in the streets, no one really throws kicks especially when you're probably in jeans or some shit and clinching will lead you to get jumped or dirty. The whole BJJ is godlike for street fighting needs to stop. Fighting off your back when there could be more than one person will end dirty

Bullshit.

brain damage MAY happens if you are a PROFESSIONAL BOXER since the high volume of head blow exchanged in 12+rounds match.

So you didn't do any muay thai.

Even light spaced sparrings can disturb your brain quite badly.

>boxers btfo
>they don't answer anymore
Every fucking time.

Boxing is a meme

Sorry, you are very stupid. Freestyle wrestling is GOAT because of balance and physic, any wrestler will absolutely destroy any thai-boxer.
And also muay thai is a meme, really shittiest punching from all martial arts.

>I am actually russian
Then go here 2ch.hk slash sp slash res slash 1210283 dot html#1243689
read and learn: WRESTLING >>>>>>> striking.

I wouldn't say muay thai is a meme but yeah a good wrestler can wreck a striker easily in one vs one

I'm NOT interested, user.
And you wonder why us men have a bad reputation.
This is LITERALLY rape.

But I was about to suggest an ice cream user...

>they don't answer anymore
I'm not 24/7 on Veeky Forums retard. You articles clearly state that they studied PROFESSIONAL boxers and mma fighters. I literally addressed this in my post.

>tfw I can KO you in 10 seconds and still have a higher iq
feels good subhuman

>clearly didn't read the link
Yep, higher IQ. :^)

not really it's just a specialisation

it progressed Japanese Jiu Jitsu -----> Judo ------>BJJ

each working on a different aspect and going deeper

dumb fat lanklet detected

Judo lost a lot of its applicability ever since the IJF imposed new rules a couple olympics ago. Where they basically stripped competitive judo of all throws touching the legs and all throws with a bearhug-like grip. Which are the fucking best/easiest throws to do against someone untrained. You will still learn them at every judo club, but you will rarely be allowed to train them with full intensity, so thus you won't be able to get good with them to competently use in a high-stress situation. All of judo's other throws are disgustingly good too... but it literally takes 1-2 years to pull them off against a fully resisting opponent, even untrained, and a lot of them take a long time to adapt to no-gi.

Judo used to be GOAT as a general self-defence grappling art. You learned huge slams like ura-nage or even simple double legs. And the art emphasized immediately moving into a position of power of a pin, or a submission (chokes and armbars are taught in judo ofc). Everything was meant to be done extremely explosively and end things as fast as possible. There's my rant on Judo, as a Judo BB.
If you have to choose one, I'd sadly suggest choosing wrestling. But ideally you should cross-train. A lot of BJJ clubs nowadays have specific days dedicated to wrestling only, and something like that is probably your best bet. You need submissions, and you need (achievable in a short period of time) throws. Judo used to cover both, but not anymore.

I see thank you. That's sad. I also have a sanda club near my place is it good?
And who would win, a very good grappler (wrestling/BJJ) or a very good boxer (muay thai)?

In a 1v1 in that situation, the grappler always wins

>medscape link requires login
>other 2 articles clearly state they studied professional fighters
>Article 2 concludes their is less head trauma in current professional boxers due to less hits to the head, and due to increased monitoring they can detect faster when someone develops chronic traumatic brain injury
>article 3 comes to the conclusion that greater exposure to repetitive head trauma is associated with lower brain volumes and lower processing speed in ACTIVE PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS.

Just admit you're a bunch of pussies looking for an excuse to avoid improving your martial prowess. Punches are scary :(. Now you try to act like an enlightened intellectual fedora.
>fighters can kick my ass, but I'm smarter than them!

Pic related. Dolph Lundgren, chemical engineer and European Kyokushin Karate champion, still doing well today.

Muay thai is shit for """"streeeeeet fiiiiiiiight"""", focus on boxing so you can kite your opponents because what if they have knives and friends.

It doesn't matter if you do judo or wrestling for streeeeeet fiiiiiiiight because 9 times out of 10 you will be able to close distance and take one guy down without consciously doing any specific technique. Of course he then stabs you or his friends kill you with lead pipes or he chokes you out because he did BJJ and you two are now in the only scenario where BJJ is actually good. Fuck why am I even replying to this retarded thread.

>kyokushin karate
>can't punch the face
Keep trying. :^)

Judo in a street fight because the pavement will always hit harder than you can.

Wrestling>judo.

Judo
Wrestling has no submissions.

If judo throws worked they'd be used in college wrestling
/thread

Judo is far superior. The sport is both more beautiful and more useful in real life
you cant grab onto a Gi in college wrestling you inbred redneck

So what do you think of ?

Cant relate because my personal training experience is with Sambo and although its very similar the IJF rules dont really apply to our small Sambo tournaments.

Im sure that regardless, Judo is still more useful.

...

If you had any understanding of sport, you would not be making this statement.

>If guard worked, it would be used in college wrestling!

No you dingus, the sports are similar, but have different goals and rulesets.

Also, ouchi -gari is an inside trip, japanese whizzer is a standard ippon seio, most lifts are ura nage variants, and cross bodies are general osoto gari variants.

Also, college wrestling is an american grappling culture, where you are extremely specialized and often likely do not practice other sports.

Those who do succeed.

I've trained at this mans facility multiple times, judo is an effective form of grappling you ween.

Getting shin kicked in the face full blast is worse, user.
