Hey, so if I exercise 3-4 times a week with a 20-25min cycling session of an average 18mph combined with various other exercises for the upper body and eat around 1500 calories per day - am I making any progress or am I just being retarded?

Honestly I don't like putting end goals for myself so early, for now I just want to go under the 95-100 range. After I do that then I set my next target until I like how my body looks and feels.

Plateaus are rough. Sometimes I have periods where I'm just fuckin RAVENOUS so I give myself a week at maintenance and that usually takes care of it--however, don't use the extra calories to eat like shit, make sure it's a clean surplus with lots of protein.

Also think about what is saying and if it applies to you.

I have a meal plan that i follow everyday. Done 2 clean refeeds so far and one cheat day and will be doing another one this weekend as i work part time in a physical demanding job. I think if helped me to stay on track, also allows for fasted cardio in the afternoon. I weigh myself everyday to get my weekly average and go from that.

Ehh people here are trying their best to better themselves and get healthier. From what I gather a lot of other people here (including me) are not even obese, just overweight - I'm right in the middle of a healthy bmi myself but just use these for encouragement & motivation to cut down to where I'm really lean and muscles are visible before clean bulking.

Besides seeing really overweight people succeed and make it makes me extremely happy and is wholesome. This general is the most pleasant and positive niche in this board in my opinion.

It's different depending on your weight. Higher weight, higher weight loss potential. This isn't rocket science.

1-2 lbs per week is sustainable, healthy loss for normal people. It also minimizes some issues.

Scale hasn't moved much in the past week, and I'm eating 1600 cals a day so I feel like my deficit is too large to really plateau at this weight, should I just keep the same deficit or eat more for a few days, I read to do the latter to jumpstart my metabolism but not sure if that's meme science or actually true

How do retards seriously believe in "plateaus" and shit. The only true plateau is due to water retention increase due to your body adapting. When you eat a normal days worth of calories or just continue to diet, you'll piss like a race horse one morning and "lose" 6 lbs.

You aren't special, your body is fueled by something and if you are really keeping your diet (I bet you aren't) your body will start to take from fat stores to make up for the lack of energy intake.

Your body isn't that much different from a car. Your car doesn't hit a fuel plateau, the dial is always dropping if you don't refill.

Weighed myself this morning for no reason (maybe just to see that number again) and I was 74.6kg

Did you eat stuff high in sodium? Water weight can really surprise you after a night's worth of salty food. As long as you're honest with your food logs, 3kg's worth of calories will never magically put themselves into you.

Been having success with 16:8 over the last two months. I feel like I have a lot more control over my hunger, so a lot of days I end up doing more like 20:4 because I don't feel like eating anything until 2 or 3pm. Then I have a light dinner because I had a late lunch.

your sedentary tdee is 2486 cals, so eating 1500 puts you at like a 1k deficit. That's a little high but not too bad. If you don't feel like shit, keep it up. You'll drop the weight in no time.

After a year of using MFP I've slowly stopped using it because I know the caloric content of most things I eat by now. Also I make all my own food (eating out is expensive and I have a lot of free time atm) so it's easy to keep track.

Are you supposed to phase out counting calories, or do you have to stay vigilant with your counting in order to make it? I'm still steadily losing weight without counting but I'm also afraid I might be playing myself here.

I have "made it" and just enjoy counting calories because I like being able to look at the data, as well as being able to plan around times when I indulge. Seeing two 3000+ calorie pillars from a weekend out in the graph is a reminder to casually cut for the next week or two.

When I said I workout I meant I go to the gym. Lifting is the main thing I do and at the end of my workout I just go on the bicycle.

My upper-body workout consists of some Dumbbells, EZ Curl Bar, Lat Pull Down, Bench Pressing and 1 or 2 more for triceps. Had to basically google their names in English, my bad if something sounds awkward.
